15Bit: The photos of your daughter are wonderful...
I spent the past two days at the RI National Guard Airshow, using a bit of this and that, including my newly converted FD 500mm f8 reflex (mirror). I figured that this will be my last posting for the "Spring" thread, so I chose one of my favorite passions to close with.

Edd
Thanks Edd. Like jj's little one she's naturally photogenic and its actually quite hard not to take good pictures of her - she makes me look like a much better photographer than i really am. I like your jets, especially the truck. I seem to remember there used to be an american company making similarly insane trucks and motorbikes based around gas turbine helicopter engines.
Carl, if you think your 5D2 is crappy you should try the 5D original i'm having to struggle along with Love the flowers - i usually knock the ants off but it works well here.
Jason - that first shot is superb.
A final shot then to round off my spring contributions. Again the 5D + Samyang 85mm combo.
My outdoor thermometer shows 34.5 deg C in shade today. With high haze and humidity in the air, it feels like a veritable oven outside. The summer is here, no two ways about it.
Went out early with 1DMkIIN and the best BIF lens I've got, but the action was slow and the heat didn't inspire a desire to hike thru my usual marsh. The Common terns have been fishing far out on the lake, and haven't sighted a single Caspian today.
Thank god I had managed to complete 500 II testing before the action dispersed, and since 600 II is not likely to be delivered any time soon, I do not feel any pressure to shoot hard these days.
Those are really two good lenses 400 f/5.6 (Psychic) and 100L (Geoff).
In fact, as long as light is good, I am convinced that there isn't a better generic BIF lens by Canon than 400 f/5.6......for any money.
Granted, for some special type targets/shots 400 f/5.6 will not do well, but that goes without saying.....there is no such thing as a universally perfect tool.
Terns looking great here...it is 93*F, and humid. I was out early this morning with my newly re-furbished Canon 7 rangefinder (35mm film), so no "digi" from today. It was my "grab-camera" in my flight bag during the Laos-Vietnam war...
Thanks again for the great thread, and keeping it together...
