I just walked into a Best Buy in NYC (Lexington Ave and 86 Street) looking for a D800 (they laughed) and they had five (three not yet spoken for) Mk IIIs in their inventory. If someone's looking, you might give them a call or drop in if you're local. They said they're steadily getting in 2 or 3 each week.
