You do understand that the adapter allows Canon EF lenses to be used on a Sony NEX camera, and not the other way round (Sony NEX lenses on Canon cameras)? So you could use your 24L and 50L on a NEX with this adapter.
Hmm...no autofocus...but still tempted to try it...but then again, since Conurus is manufacturing it in Asia, there might be a knockoff coming in the not too distant future.
I've been waiting for this for awhile. Price is a bit steeper than I'd like but the thought of being able to use my 24TSEII on a NEX is just too good to pass up. And I think now I'll start carrying around the adapter plus NEX5n when I'm out with my full 5dII kit...it's like having a 1.5x teleconverter for all my Canon lenses which also can act as a backup camera
Great news about the partnership with Metabones, congratulations Conurus. Price is way to high though, esp considering no AF. The high price is not surprising, seeing as the current prices for Contax N conversions by Conurus are at ridiculously high levels.

I was under the impression that autofocus would work, esp. since they say IS is working.
Ordered also. Too bad the tripod foot does not appear to have been machined with A-S fins. Perhaps Bo-Ming will pass the idea along, and other adapter makers reading here as well.

There's really no reason to attempt AF with SLR lenses on a CDAF system. Even Sony's first official adapter for a-mount lenses, the LA-EA1, had painfully slow AF with a-mount lenses. We're talking a few seconds to lock focus, and that's why Sony managed the LA-EA2, with the mirror and PDAF module inside of it.
Considering that I've paid $180+ for a couple of different types of M to NEX adapters, I'd say $399 is quite reasonable.
I guess I don't much get the point. If you're using EF lenses, which are quite large compared to mirrorless system lenses, why not just get a small EOS body, like a T3i or something. Heck, even a T3 is only $469, with a T2i coming in at $509 new.
You'd get full AF, much better handling, the same sensor size, etc. The advantage to mirrorless comes because the whole system is smaller, not just the body. If you're using huge lenses on the body, why not have a little larger body that works natively, for the same price?
I guess this might be useful if you have ONE EF lens you really want to use on your NEX, while bringing all smaller stuff for the rest of the kit, but that's an awfully big premium to pay for one lens.
I mean, the TS-E 17 is NOT small (plus, if you're shelling out the kind of dough for a 17mm tilt shift, you really should grab a full frame body and use the whole FOV).
Far too expensive for what it does. Most of my canon lenses would be a pain in the ... To use on the nex, at that point may as well buy a brand new rebel.
I'd be more likely to move to Sony full frame when the new ships and adapt alpha lenses.
Hi, Jman13. I'd guess that it would be interesting for those that use a variety of lenses, so they can use just one camera body for all of them. Either way, a NEX-5N with a small EOS prime is still quite a bit smaller than even the smallest Rebel.
Yah but why use a small efs prime.. I mean, you'd have to have a bag of them at that price. Like every non l prime.
If you want a couple of primes..just buy legacy glass for the same price as these...there aren't many fast efs primes that would compel over similar older glass. And at $400 I'd really have to have three or four lenses to bother...
As it sits with my 24L, 35L, 135L, 24-105L, 70-200 ii, I just dont see why I'd bother with this...the body is not the weight 'problem' in this equation... And if I was going to spend $200-300 per lens on two lenses as well as $400 for an adaptor... I'd just get better legacy glass,...
So what am I missing? That I don't have a lot of small canon primes?
