It sounds like it will be available in the US in about two weeks according to the person on facebook. I'm hoping the price will be lower than it is sounding though. Would be nice if it would be in the $500 range like the 35mm. I love my 3 Rokinons I have so far.
Looks like Amazon has the price at $800! That's a lot of cash it seems like to me. Not in stock yet-hopefully when they do get it the price will come down closer to the 35mm.
Well I pulled the trigger on it @ Amazon.
I am not known to be an early adopter so this will be interesting.
Hope ur right about the price coming down when it's actually in stock.

Yikes, 800 smackers. I guess Samyang finally realized they can charge more.
However, it's at that price range now that build quality really matters.
A well-corrected 24mm ƒ/1.4 lens competing with Zeiss and Canikon needing lots of special glass isn't cheap to design or manufacture. More so, I suspect than their other offerings. Not all that surprising.
However, if I'm spending near $1000, I'm going to expect better build quality than the 35mm F1.4.
At least Voigtlander or even Pentax M42 lenses.
Concur. Perhaps working out the kinks has been the reason for the extended delay in its actual release. Doubt though that the money went into the build, just the innards.
I agree about the build quality. From looking at photos of the lens, it doesn't seem different from my 85, 35 or 14 Samyangs. Those are "good" but not great.
I don't think I'd pay over $550 for the 24/1.4 based on those other lenses. A used Canon version 1 is near $1000, with AF and auto aperture.
We'll see the IQ, price and availability soon enough I suppose!

nobody makes lenses with as good a build as pentax m42 lenses anymore because it's too expensive. even the new Z* cosina zeiss lenses pale in comparison. i agree though, for $800 i'd like the lens to be as well made as the cv lenses.
Probably the first, although pretty short, review of this lens posted by one of the members of our local Canon photo forum, and some nice test shots. Most photos taken at 1.4 (if at different f-stop, then it's given in description).
