Just got back from a nice cruise of the Alaskan panhandle, starting from Seattle.
Here's a few from Victoria, B.C. harbor, which we just happened to reach before sunset (then left at midnight to return to Seattle). Just time for a little walk-about, a few photos, and stop for Scotch and ale in a local pub on Government Street.
Canon 60D, 15-85/3.5-5.6 IS, wobbly little Gorilla tripod with ball head (good for emergency use).
Thrift-finds this past month...
Found a box of 10-yr old fujicolor press-800....and a hp 4850 flatbed-35mm film scanner.....
Anyway...I didn't expect the film to be very good for anything but uncommon WB....so I went out at night and shot a few to see if it'll work...and got this with the Nikon 50mm 1.4 AIS...on a Rebel...I know, why not my FE...well I just wanted to see what the combination would do....

Hmm, I like your shots, but it is really against the spirit of this forum to post Nikon or Canon photos with modern Nikon or Canon AF lenses...
Here's a quote from the very first post in this thread:

Okay, I'm cheating here! I admit it!
In the broadest sense of the concept, twilight/night shots are "alternative to the norm" in photography. The "norm" is usually daylight or flash photography.
...
I've become a fan of the Alt forum, and after the nice collaboration on the Pano-mania thread, I thought this would be a better home for displaying these types of work than either the Canon, Nikon or Gear forums.
obik, forum rules are not changeable by individual thread starters. Some exceptions have been made in the past, especially for things like direct comparisons, or older lenses, but posting several Nikon-on-Nikon photos in a single post without anything else starts to cross invisible lines.
Technician, why don't you start one? I am also a Nikon owner, and also would like to post everything I do here in this forum, but it isn't really the right place. If Canon-Canon or Nikon-Nikon photos started being posted here regularly, the traffic would go up noticeably.

This thread is four months old at this point, and the thread starter stated that it was open to Canon and Nikon AF lenses in the very first post. Why get anal about the letter of the law now? It's a little late to bring up your objections, especially since you've been posting in this thread from the beginning, and could have voiced your objections then.
carstenw, the truth is at obik's side, by the way. Pictures taken with 'big two' gear were present in this thread since the very beginning. Why are you upset on me about the same if you're loyal to topicstarter and crowd of followers?
Sorry, I don't really mean to be a spoilsport, but this forum is very special because of the large number of alternative lens owners, and mixing in regular stuff would detract from that. I promise to leave extra-nice comments for your next photos
I am also against other posts with Canon-Canon or Nikon-Nikon photos. I might not always have seen or written so. An occasional exception is okay, if there is some specific reason, it doesn't really change anything. Examples would be lenses which are not/barely available in alt format, such as TS-E lenses, comparisons between specific lenses of equal/similar spec, old MF lenses from Nikon, and so on.
FWIW I am also against the same in the admirable boke thread, but for comparison purposes some were left there.
I am not suddenly voicing objections, btw. I have always done so, although maybe not for each and every post. The thing is that this forum is great because of its altness. If someone wants to make great Canon or Nikon shots, there are forums for that. Sony is accepted here because there is no Sony forum, and so on. I haven't said anything in this thread because I haven't really followed it.
