I like the conversion, some might quibble about the blown out areas, especially the top most sound port(?).
I am not comfortable with the composition and cannot identify why, other than the top most portion, to me, is disconnected with the remainder of the image..perhaps it is the upward sweep that leads the eye away. Too, the horizontal rib is at odds with the arc traced by the ports.
To me, the problem with the compo is that the eye tends to swing up and down, following the arc of the lipped holes. There's not an image element strong or unique enough to anchor the eye.
