p.1 #1 · WTB: External CD burner

I'm keeping an older Windows based computer running and need to add a burner to it. A couple Miranda members recently sold HP 8200s which tells me reasonably priced older models are out there (I just missed on one this past weekend). Something a bit faster than an 8200 would be nice.

External because, for reasons I don't understand, the internal CD reader no longer works, but USB does.

If you have something fitting this description, can recommend a particular model or know of a source for such things, please advise.

You're welcome to email directly (rather than PM) to: [email protected]

TIA for your time and reply!/Scott Gardner

Scott,

You may not be aware, but it is possible nowadays to get external housings for such things as hard drives/burners etc that will allow you to use pretty much whatever burner you want, via usb/usb2. They come fairly cheap too, readily available on ebay & such places last time I looked.

Maybe that will help. If not, worth a try, no loss

Good luck

Rob.
