I was wondering about is this particular lens was a sharp copy. Especially wide open. Again, I have been reading of quality control issues causing some people to have back focusing issues, etc.

This one is very slightly soft wide open but very much correctable with a 4 dialed in the d700. 4 being very minor. Some sample shots attached.

100% crop for those pixel peepers. Auto level and crop to web size were the only things done to photo. Focus is on the middle o in octOpus.
