Stretching the wings.

The flower, the heart of the matter, is home to a host of small black flies and beetles. Finding one fresh is uncommon.

The beetles end up all over, and under, the Harlequin.

I came upon this fellow as he was climbing out of his old coat, also on the Hibiscus.

Used to look something like this. They appeared in numbers on the Hibiscus around the same time as the young Harlequin were hatching.

She? 's been guarding her eggs for a week or so, fending off smaller bugs, and when they hatch they herd around the branch and she backs a way down and sits some more.

Awesome series mate!! The reflection on the bugs and those eggs really show how good your lighting is.

Thanks n0b0. As you know the lighting is cheap and simple, chimple.
The dictionary says there is no such word, so I added it and there is now.
I'd like a little less shadow though. Another source or reflector would also reduce the highlights from the primary.

Thanks for looking Ken. Yes, they are beautiful creatures. Colour may be overdone, red especially in #3, am looking at that.

It was my access to the web -the joys of being connected to Telecom Italia...
I can see the rest now, and that florescent blue beetle looks awesome!
