Questions re: 180mm and the crinkle finish. The lens is a late serial model 26xxxx with the crinkle finish. Although this looks metallic, in fact the main barrel outer is plastic (coated with the crinkle finish). The hood and front barrel section are solid metal. My lens is exactly as picture here (not actual lens, though in this condition):
