All should be WIDE OPEN shots, RAW processed in ACR, default settings (except +1 exposure on the downtown skyscrapers), the color is real nice, that is also helped by the overcast skies:
Yeah... has kind of a turqoise look doesn't it. Using a variety of RAW converters... this is RAW Photo Process, a MAC shareware effort. May be my monitor profile also?

hi all! this is my first post on this forum. i read this forum all the time but never sign up but here i am! i read some comments of ppl saying how bad my PP/PS skills are for the 100mm f/2.8 macro IS image i posted. i just want to say i post the photos online and just add my signature to the photos in PP. just trying to share an image and not show anything fake from PS or whatever and show great images the lens and camera cannot produce.
ok...back to the topic...
I think this is an amazing lens. sharp, beautiful bokeh, and good range. the 5.6 does not bother me that since noise of dslr at higher iso is about 1-2stops better than it was back in film days.

Looks excellent, too bad it's not constant f/2.8 aperture. If it was and without the bad vignetting, I would buy it without hesitation.
An effective 24-135mm constant f/2.8 zoom? If it's even possible to build at a less than stratospheric price, it would likely be double the size and weight of the 17-55. I think realistic expectations are in order here.
This lens is simply a replacement for the 17-85: same aperture, same speed, etc., but improved (greatly IMO) by the 24mm EFOV and better IQ. Nobody complained about the speed of the 17-85, or about the 28-135 on full frame, so I guess I don't understand the core expectations here.
Canon already makes a constant f/2.8 standard zoom for both full frame and APS-C. This lens serves a different purpose.

agree.....and if its f/2.8 it would probably hv a 77mm thread and weigh double and it will no longer be travel around lens. this lens was made to be a kit lens for the 7D and the 7D has great high iso performance. i hear some say 1-2 stops better than the 50D. with 1-2 stops difference the small aperture will not be a prob with higher iso

I already had this conversation 2 days ago. Feel free to find out how it turned out by reading the rest of page 8.

Yeah, I know this to be true. Before moving to upstate NY we lived in California and I used to complain about the sameness of the weather there!
It's not just that. I wish it was. The combination of global warming with our politicians' stupidity means that Israel is drying out, quite literally.
