p.1 #1 · FS: Kodak 1400 Dye-Sub Printer

Selling off my trusty Kodak 1400 Printer. It has sat on my desk for about 2 years, faithfully making 1-2 prints every week. It has been stored under a dust cover every second except when it was actively making a print. (Image from Adorama. Mine looks identical.)

However, about 10 prints ago, it developed a slight printing error. It sometimes leaves a small streak across the left side of the print. Here is a picture I took of a recent 8x10. You can see the 1" long streak on the kids arm. It looks like this:

I have not tried to do anything to fix it other than quickly wiping down the print head with rubbing alcohol, as suggested by the Kodak website. I am not printing in-house enough these days to make it worth my time to try and fix it. It might be a 30 second fix, like something caught in the print head. I'm not interested enough to find out.

Even if it's a permanent problem, you can still print multiple smaller prints on a piece of paper and trim them out, so it still has some value.

I will sell the printer with about 35-40 sheets of 8x12 still in the tray and a sealed 50-count 8"x14" printkit for only $125 USD including PP. This is like buying all my leftover media and getting the printer pretty much for free. Local pick-up highly encouraged in the NYC/Northern NJ area. Shipping available at cost.

No marks, no blemishes, never dropped or damaged. Includes the power cord, all printing trays/original hardware, and I'm pretty sure I have the software/driver CD as well. Even if I don't, you don't want the drivers from the CD anyway, because updated drivers are available from the Kodak website that are much, much better than the originals.

Here is a review of the printer: http://www.ephotozine.com/article/Kodak-Professional-1400-4550

Use it for parts. Try to fix it. Take it out into a field and go all Office Space on it. I don't care! I will not sell the media without the printer, please don't ask. You're wasting your time. It's a package deal baby! Just like marriage!
