This item is a nice somewhat compact geared pan-tilt. It can help give smooth pans for using the video mode with an SLR using a heavier lens & body (stay below it's 11 pound limit of course). And it works well for tripod macro work, being able to handle a micro rail weight easily and give fairly precise small angle adjustments to make composition fine tuning easier...

Two questions:
About how old is the head?
I've been thinking about buying one of these, but why are you selling? What is the downside to this type of head?
