A while back I was looking for a simple low cost, low profile camera support. I liked the Overxposed.com plates but did not care for their $100+ pricing. I developed a 6"x6" floor plate that supports a Pro Size DSLR with a 300 2.8.

The plate is CNC machined from a 1/4" 6160 aluminum plate and will accept any ball head with a standard 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 thread. The head is not included in this sale. The price of the 6x6 plate is just $60 shipped to your door via USPS First Class Mail. PM me for PayPal information or questions.

Nope its NAKED!

As of 3/12/09 the 6x6 Floor Plates are available in Black or Red anodize. They are NAKED no more.

For others interested in Mark's camera plate, this is what I had to say about it in the feedback I just left him:

Mark's overexposed plate is nothing short of ingenious! I can now use my Markins/RRS tripod head/plate combo at ground level. Short of laying the camera itself on the ground, you can't get closer than that. And it's a solid piece of craftsmanship that out-prices the competition by far!

Hey Mark. Looks good. You may want to change "FS: 6x6 OverExposed..." to something like, "FS: Mark's Ultimate Plate" and then describe it as similar to the one by overexposed, but a better mousetrap. I'd hate to see them knock on your door.

Yes, every plate comes with a 1/4-20 counter sunk screw as well as a 3/8-16 bushing. Everything but an 5/32 allen wrench.
