Just curious, can't you return it to the store? If you're trying to make a bit off it, it'd read better by saying "hey, I got one but can't afford it! Would anyone like to buy it with a bit of a mark-up for my luck & troubles?".

I didn't think these items were rare enough to be marked up over retail. Good luck!

actually... the way it's backordered? I beg to differ! The market price on these on ebay are immensely high.

I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to make a bit of profit on an item which is presently in short supply. What's new in that ? I mean, there a few members on this board who have been turning expensive lenses and cameras over like there is no tomorrow. Selling items out of their personal collection ? Doing it as a pro bono service to the community ?
Yeah right.

nothing wrong with making a profit. if you don't like the price, you don't have to buy . supply and demand is a beautiful thing in my opinion

One body sold 2 days ago on eBay for $5000, I dont think im asking for too much when im covering Paypal and shipping. And especially for someone wanting a MKII that has a fisheye collecting dust they never use they would want to donate to someone that will use it ( for their luck and troubles)

The buyer must be out of his mind. He can get a 1Ds III for that price. But I do believe your price is reasonable enough for a quick sale.

Guys, if you don't like the price, you MUST move on!!!! What's all the price policing about Timing, supply, and demand will dictate the price!

I agree with nothing wrong to sell anything here at any price the seller want to sell as long as the items are allowed to sell as the rule here.

But i believe you stated that want to sell it to cover your cost plus paypal fee and shipping etc..while you still make $350-$400 profit, it makes others feel uncomfortable.

Good luck for the sale, and i do believe the price is fair, and for someone is really in need of the camera the sale is a great help as well.

Hope my post doesn't sound like PRICE POLICING....

For someone who has the money and/or the fisheye and some important shoots coming up (or plenty of leisure time), they probably would go for your deal. I wasn't questioning the price so much as pointing out it's okay to charge what you'd like for it. If only I had an angel investor or some money to burn! My local camera store got in 1 body, 1 kit and has 40+ customers on the waiting list!

1.As others have said, 3400 may very well be a good price for someone who wants this right now
2.this is not like price gouging gas or food. the OP has nothing to do with tight supply of this product, and its not a critical product. its a luxury item.
3. I do agree with Lindabrowne. We are not children or stupid here. If you want to sell an item in high demand for profit, by all means, please do so. I dont think justifications are necessary, especially invalid ones.
4. Good luck with your sale.

I agreed.

To OP: There is nothing wrong with trying to make profit on this hot body. However, there is no need to put a little "drama" on your story . We all know. good luck with your sale by the way.
