Here are my observations.
1. Lots of hot spots. Maybe increase the shutter to 640 or 750? Did you try that but went with 500? Composition is fine, but nothing compelling here. From this angle and height, it's a standard shot. This is a dime-a-dozen type of shot. As for the line judge in the background, he is unavoidable since he doesn't move from his position. To counter, move more to the left to shoot the outside hitter attacking. But pick your poison. If you move to the left, that leaves the middle and right side hitters with cluttered BGs when they are on the attack. You did manage to capture the following, however. This OH is hitting down the line. Typically, the OH's are attacking the middle and weak side. Major faux pas with your caption. There is no such thing as "utility" in volleyball. Megan Wilson is an OH (outside hitter). Also, replace "game" with "match".
2. Again, am curious to see this with a faster shutter. The ball cut off was already mentioned, and that's a major killer for this shot. "Sophmore" is misspelled.
3. More problems with the caption. Did this match take place on Thursday or Wednesday (see #1 and #2). Was the final score 4-1 or 3-1? The photo is average. Fan photos are better served shot at much closer range.
