Can't get over the clarity of Douglas photo's amazing.
One from the way back machine.
All ready on the field before sunrise, with Jim and friends.
Jim had to go to the briefing and we could roam the field when this baby started up for departure.
Fighter Squadron Composite 111 (VFC-111) Northrop F-5N/F Tiger-II 761544 departs from Alliance in 2010.
Think I posted it before but was tinkering with de noise to if it could be improved a little bit.
Enjoy the weekend.

Thank you, gentlemen!
J-A, you got some pretty light on that F-5N!
Since I don't have access to the base outside of the airshow hours, I did a bit of research online and found a spot outside of the fence of the northeast side of Barksdale where I could peep through the fence. I used a small cheapo kit lens to stick it through a fence hole to get these shots at sunrise. I was very happy to see an Avro Vulcan! It's on display as one of the planes of the 8th Air Force Museum inside Barksdale.

F-22 and F-16 taxing back after the the heritage flight. The 3-ship shot is the only decent slow shutter speed picture I got from heritage flight. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to get one single relatively sharp one with this shutter speed.

So glad to see your work again Glenn. Outstanding as always.
Mark, you are right about the F-15, looks much better flying, but when loaded it does look menacing on the ground.
Jim and Douglas, wonderful compositions and video. And Douglas, you nailed the Heritage Flight!
Jan-Aire keeps teasing me with his F-4 shots. Love it Jan-Aire. BTW, that F-5 livery seems a bit schizophrenic, Flying Tigers nose art, Russian roundel on the vertical stabilizer and the rising sun on the rudder?

Well dont feel alone brother!
Before my wife's serious and crappy done surgical medical issues, I was "told" to repaint MY bathroom with HER colors. All fru fru crap! .
Bob Jarman had a wonderful composition of an old Coke truck, as well as, some great images from Heavy's BBQ.
He allowed me to use them.
Bathroom still unpainted except for swatches of different colored paint awaiting HER choice! That was 2 years ago!
I was all ready for a "camo green Jungle theme" NOT!!!!!!!
Good luck!

Thank you very much Ray! I had taken such heritage flight at higher shutter speed because I didn't want to miss, but the props weren't looking good, so this time I wanted try a slower shutter speed at the risk of not getting one single sharp one. Lucked out with this one. That's one of the reasons I have 12K images in two days. Spray and pray.

Thank you Dan!
Mark, I don't mind one bit if the air force flies the F-15 instead of the F-16 for the Thunderbirds. Personally I think the F-15 has a much more power stance, very photogenic.
Hard to follow Jim's epic picture of the MIG-17s, I did much more post processing with the first two than I usually do, the original files look pretty drab because of the dark sky.

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but Canon hypoed a "Huge" firmware release for the R5 a few weeks ago, and released it this week. One of the big features enabled owners to create 400MP images through the use of IBIS and a 9 pass multiple exposure of sorts. After much study, and several conversations with pixel peepers who have tested it ad nauseam, I have come to the conclusion that it's a nothing burger. First, one has to use Canon DPP and I think that is one step above a virus, second it obviously only works on stationary subjects like landscapes and architecture, the final nail in the coffin is that it only captures in jpeg. Nice try Canon, just go ahead and release the R1 and quit futzing around with stuff like this.
