We used to take turns mowing the grass strip at Dobransky International, it was fun because you became a target for any of the regulars coming and going.

, they fly over you and drop eggs or water balloons
Ray, I want one of those for traveling here locally in Philly when the 100 plus miscreants are out running their ATV's, dirt bikes, 3 wheelers, etc., illegally on the streets. Does this Deere come with a huge snow blade up front? Perhaps also with bullet resistant glass.
Morning all! -14F up here in Iowa this morning. Having a cold streak with a bunch of snow the last few days. Yesterday's high was 6F!!! But's all about perspectives......
Nap time at 6F
Are you going to join me Dad? It's sunny and warm!

I am sure that bad boy will handle anything you want to add, even a 105 mm tank gun!
Luv ya, Brother, just laughed my ass off on that one. Get this: City Council in the crap hole advised the membership that since all the riders were 'persons of color', it would be racist to arrest them. He further went on to say "after all because of systemic racism, these "children" didn't have any place to recreate (there's more than one way to pronounce that last term). So therefore (he went on) these children (sic) should just be allowed to create mayhem, adding is really just part of the Philadelphia culture. Full disclosure: PA law forbids law enforcement from intervening because a) cop cars can't chase them out of liability concern for harming folks going about their business; b) LE can't catch them anyway. Yep, that's Filthadelphia. Just another day in the neighborhood, although arguably more advanced than the Baltimore hierarchy who several years ago in the mayhem following the in-custody death of a prisoner in a police van were observed burning down the City, well, it prompted the then hierarchy to announce: "Well, these folks just need a way to vent." Next time those AH's are out there, I'll grab up some pics from the deck of where I live of these "children" recreating.

Just got a text from my nephew, he and his crew are bringing 8 new Blackhawks to Fort Hood early next month. We've coordinated an overnight at AFW so we can shoot them as they arrive and depart the next day.
Nephew from aviation unit here Jim?
Please tell him THANKS and to all the crews!
Group photo would be nice if time allows!

Here in Central Texas it is only 28°, however, since there was overnight moisture there is a coating of ice on the roads. We are shut down. We don't maintain $50 million in snow/ice maintenance equipment for 2-5 days use a year. TxDOT only spreads sand/deice coatings on the overpasses and bridges. That means the roads are icy but not the bridges. My wife is getting texts from friends of many cars off the road due to ice. For me, I am in front of the fireplace, reading a good book with a cup of coffee next to my wife. Life is good.

You have the right "game plan" for handling these kinda days!

I'm hoping that we can get some cool shots Dan, definitely a group shot. They are overnighting and I'm going to take them to dinner. Time and WX permitting we'll come back over to shoot their departures well.
Ray you've got the right approach, an afghan, a fire and a cute Gal. I'm organizing files and editing video. Looks like a couple more days of crud and then we'll be back in the 60's. Hoping to go get my Cub in East Texas on Friday.

These guys are out of Illinois, they are just delivering the Blackhawks, don't know where they are going after that. My nephew has been asked to go into a special program at Fort Rucker to get all of his fixed wing ratings.
So it has been cold and snowy up here but all in all it's been pretty fun to be outside. The wind has been down a lot from last year............... So on Saturday and Sunday when we had snow; while it was cold the lack of wind made it really pleasant to be outside. The cold temperatures made for a light fluffy snow and in need of exercise I shoveled the drive by hand both days. Saturday was about 15F and the 2 hrs out side were very pleasant. Sunday am it was again calm and 3F with the sun rising so 90 minutes of shoveling was not only very peaceful but also left me somewhat sweaty. Earlier in the week we had 3 days of fog off and on. When it lifted the trees were just beautiful. The pictures below were my rushed attempt to capture the beauty of the day during lunch as it was a work day. Hope you enjoy.
And Dan, just wanted to say that walking to school up hill both ways................. Ya, no that don't happen in Iowa as it is just too damn flat to make that claim! Besides, us Wisconsinites know that we were the 1st to make that claim!!!
