Hi Rob:

Looks like you made it to SA yesterday. Good work buddy! The Phantom rocks. We went today and when it finally got to 1000ft and 3miles a couple hours late, it only stayed that way for 2 hours then poured cats and dogs and cancelled.

hey Rodolfo, bummer about the camera but sounds to me like the shooting will just get better with your daughter at it now

I know the sickening feeling of having dropped a camera on concrete (My FE.. lens took the brunt of it and it all survived). Not fun. --Lars

Aw, man, I'm sorry to hear that. But it did look threatening when I pulled out for Dallas at 7:15 yesterday morning. It never rained on me, but it was almost to Dallas before I got out of the fog.

I've always said that girl has more sense than I do.

I hope you took that prime opportunity to teach Anya that "size doesn't matter at all - that composition matters". Its a lesson with many possible meanings but the underlying principle is the same. I looked at her picture and thought - not bad! Good composition and even the fact that it was a little blurry worked well with the overall feel of the moment. She captured the moment in time that no one else caught and i think its quite good! Almost watercolorish if you will.
Bob is right - she will be nipping at your heels and spending your money on all sorts of camera gear before you know it!

I can handle that... it's better than most other hobbies she could acquire. And if she chooses Nikon, I can borrow her gear too!

Good news, Jbear, hope you have the house all spiffied up.
I love how an uncluttered mind works, pure and simple. I remember when I worked with a view camera, and people would look at the upsidedown image and wonder how come. Sometimes it makes you think "am I missing something.."

This was the Hornet's final pass before cancelling the remainder of the day. It was raining pretty good by now.

I cant imagine how cool the Raptor would have been with all the moisture in the air yesterday - it would have disappeared under vapor. Even the Globemaster has fog on the wings when it rotated for its max climb.

The only thing left on my calendar is the Air Race at Taylor, the weekend after next. It's not a whole lot of a spectator sport - they take off, fly away, then come back and land again - but it's kinda fun. http://www.sportairrace.org/id4.html
