Thanks guys :-) I haven't really been _gone_ gone, just not posting much....
For those asking, this started as fun (and still is) but I'm now selling T-shirts and other things with all the planes on, via Etsy and Redbubble. Here's my original multi-plane design, "A Sky full of Airplanes".

Yes, it's definitely getting scarier out there. The millennials, among others, think they are bullet proof and it's not going well for them. Must be a happy medium between cowering at home and wall to wall people at beaches and bars..............common sense, not so common.
Laura, doggone it, just when I thought I was gonna be able to take a road trip, given that Reading (PA) has been "postponed until end 31 Jul, 1 and 2 Aug", assuming the idiot governor in PA can reverse his position.

Take care, Champ
A couple months ago I bought a Sony A9 to try out for the 8 airshows I was planning to attend this year. But four of the eight shows in May and June were cancelled. I did manage to get a few shots of the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds over Philly and DC when they did the flyover together. If the airshow in Atlantic City and Steward Airport near NYC in August don't get cancelled, I will go to these two. In September there will be a show in Oceana Naval Station and another one in Baltimore for the fleet week. Potentially there could be one in Ocean City Maryland too. Friends, including my wife think I am crazy to go to so many airshows every year to see the same acts and take the same pictures. But I enjoy the jet engine noise and the patriotic spirit.
Yes, I think there's a good chance it will be a go. The powers that be are working on the logistics of putting it on successfully and safely, but this is a "can-do" group so I'm betting that we have a show. Come down Tony, I'll make sure you get the Royal treatment!
I've finished post processing all the stills from last weekend's air to air shoot, now I'm digging into the videos. Every air to air assignment has it's challenges, shooting these Cubs requires sitting sideways with your feet out on the struts, shooting 45 degrees backward behind the rear wing strut. You have to lean out, while being very careful not to let much slipstream strike the camera. This is important in still as well as video, if you stick the 70-200 out into a little of the slipstream it drives the stabilization system nuts and you end up with garbage, for video the slightest slipstream sets up a vibration that destroys the footage. There are also the usual gremlins , horizontal stabilizers and fuselage door openings creeping into the image. Every air to air is a dance but it's still one of the coolest things anyone can be involved in.............. The Blue Super Cub is a restoration and the "MOAC" is a creation out of the imagination of American Legend Aircraft Company owner, Darin Hart, and it is a beast.
I had to dig my log book out to run a checksum on my memory. 6/12/75 is first entry and 43.6 hours later on 09/04/75 I took my checkride in the same old Cessna 150. I was working the G/Yshift so had plenty of daylight hours.

Those are rifle cases for back country hunters. Funny, people make jokes about Texas, but as democrat run states crumble it seems that everyone wants a slice of conservative bred fiscal responsibility, freedom and independence.
In case you haven't seen it, the Canon R5 announcement is scheduled for July 9th, along with six new lenses. My Canon sources tell me actual shipping time shouldn't be too much after that. I'm hoping to have one copy in hand by early August. Has anyone shot with a camera that incorporates IBIS? I'm wondering how that works as compared to or along with optical stabilization. Is IBIS more of a video gyroscopic type of stabilization? I think the 1DX III has IBIS, but I haven't really dug not that yet.
