Description: I recently got too many lenses and some have to go to make room. So on sale is the near mint Vivitar Series 1 70-210/2.8-4.0 Q-DOS lens which is the 5th version of the legendary Series one 70-210 zoom started from around 1975. This version is built by Cosina from 1991 and was on the market only for a few years, therefore it is rather rare. It is very solid built with metal barrel and should be much better than most of the modern AF lenses. The actual deal of the lens in fact is not its optical performance, but the world unique 3-dimensional photography possiblity: The Q-DOS design. When this feature is turned on, you can capture 3-D image if viewed through the supplied glasses (included). When the Q-DOS is turned off, it works as a usual lens. This is unique in a sense that the 3-D effect is created by only one lens. Also please do not compare the legendary manual focus Vivitar series 1 lenses to your modern Vivitar AF lens (most are cheap-built with low performance).
Key features:
1. relatively wide max aperture, f2.8 at 70mm, f4.0 at 210mm.
2. Solid build.
3. Exceptional macro capability: you can get 1:2.5x magnification at 210mm.
4. Of course the Q-DOS: 3-D photography.
The lens weights 670g and has a 58mm front thread.
Items included:
1. The lens with rear cap, vivitar series 1 front cap (near mint condition, both glass and barrel. No dust, scratch on glasses).
2. The box (outer looks good, inside just OK with some parts broken, but still holds everything well).
3. 3 sets of 3-D glasses (different style), all together 6 glasses.
Ok, so long. I prefer paypal, but will also consider money order or personal checks (funds need to be cleared before shipping). Again, because I am selling the split-image focus screens for 20D/10D etc in these days, many FMers know me well as a seller, please also check my feedbacks if you wish.

The web sites I mentioned in the first post is very nice, it is interesting to have a visit and read some some glorious stories about Vivitar series 1 lenses, even you are not interested in the Q-DOS.
