One of the finest lenses I have ever owned. Snappy aperture ring. Very sharp wide open. EX rated lens. Very minor dust inside and will not effect images in any way.
I had both of these lenses when I started my photojournalism carrer back in '86. The 105mm was probably my favorite focal length. Its "focus feel" was as smooth as velvet.
Thanks for the bump. They are both prize lenses and if it were not for a medical bill that I need to pay they wouldn't be on the board. However at this point they have to be sacrificed. At some point I will buy them back, I just hope ones of this condition are available when I am ready to buy again.
I haven't owned a D800 and only shot with one once. So I don't know. However if you own a D800 you can own this lens and then you can let me know. If you want I can shoot a little video with the D4 tonight. Although I don't think I've ever used the D4 for Video.
