After a long thought, I decide to switch my wide angle lenses from this 14L II and 17-40L to 16-35L II and 24L II. So, this one is up for sale.
Sorry, no original box or any other accessories. The lens is in near mint condition, however, it is important that the lens has a minor scratch/ding on the front element as appeared in the third picture. From my experience with the lens, it does not affect performance, except it sometimes creates flare if you shoot directly into the light source. Again, it happens only sometimes. That's why I rate this lens at 8+. If without the blemish, I would have rated this lens at 9+ or even 10.
out of curiosity and totally unrelated to the sale, wouldnt this lens be alot better than the 16-35 (or 17-40) in terms of distortion and image quality? what makes you want to change the setup? just simple convenience?

Great seller and a great Ricketts Glen shot! WOW!
Thank you. Ricketts Glen is such a great place with several falls. I love it.

It's true that this lens is spectacular in its own way. But I believe both 16-35L II and 14L II serve different purposes. As much as I would like to keep them all, I find that I could use the money for 16-35L II, 8-15L and 24L II to fit what I need at the moment.

Lovely lens and superb landscape. What ND filter or gel did you use for that?
I did not use any as I didn't have any that was compatible. Instead, I used the built-in HDR in my 5D3 to capture details. Otherwise, the falls would have been washed out in white.

What were your setting in the HDR? Sorry not trying to hijack your thread. Just getting in to it a little more and was interested. Free bump lol

I generally use 3 shots with 1 or 2 stops apart. I'm pretty sure it's 2 stops for this one.
I just sold my 16-35L II and picked up the 14L II and 24L II - both are top performing amazing lenses. The 8-15 fisheye is kinda cheesy but a fun lens i guess. I do miss the 16-35L now, it was the perfect focal length for dancing and party action at weddings with no lens flare.
Anyways, this is a $2300 lens for $1500. Great price and the super wide images are amazing. Somebody pick this up!!! I noticed the lens flare white shooting into my off camera 600ex-rt's. I don't think that scratch has anything to do with it, maybe just a lens flaw. Overall awesome lens for great price and you will LOVE your new 24ii

Actually, I was at the fence about selling it. I'm definitely not selling at a low price that some people lowballed me. Reading your post makes me want to keep it and I may just do that.
