Did you mean the "Body" was cleaned ? or the sensor was cleaned ?

Sorry for the confusion. The sensor was cleaned but they did a cursory inspection of several other parts (eg mirror assembly). They assured me that they did not disassemble the camera.

did it go to Nikon before or after it was cleaned at the camera store ? (proof with receipts? )

The camera did not go to Nikon at all. It was in use at the time so I could not spare the 4 weeks it would take to check it at a Nikon service center.

The battery grip was sent to Nikon repair since it was not necessary to me. The camera was not since I need it to take photos.
