Sometimes they just choose the wrong perches! Still the bird is a beauty and very well photographed. I would disagree with the ID, I think it is a Rough Legged, light morph. The eye color is the give away there. But I could be wrong

I agree with Tim. Sorry, but no way this is a ferrug. It's definitely a roughie. He's a very light bird and probably an immature - which have very minimal light subterminal tail bands compared to adults. Nice perched shots.
