I use a palm grip and this base plate has rubber away the serial number as shown in photos. This same base plate also did some damage to the tripod screw mount, which is also shown in photos. This does NOT effect the tripod mount itself at all. The camera is still rock solid on its mount as it is part of the magnesium unibody.
Serial number can easily be matched with warranty card by way of metadata.
Camera comes with all items in original box(battery, manual, warranty card, etc).
