Used but in great condition. AF-S motor is good. Sharp wide open and as sharp as zoom lenses can get once stopped down. Aperture dial clicks crisply and the blades are clean. A few dings and scratches, optics are perfect. I do not need to use micro-adjust on my D300 nor on my D5000.

the look through is much cleaner than appears in this picture.... glass is in great shape on this lens

I have a Nikon 300 4.5 AI ED that I am willing to part with. It is tack sharp if you can focus it. I am not skilled enough with this manual lense to get in focus shots on fast moving targets. Unfortunately, that is all I shoot. So, although it is an incredibly sharp lense in near new condition, I need to move to auto focus to keep up with my subjects.
