The only problem is the button for locking the A/M isn't "poping out." Looks like the spring isn't working for whatever reason. It does not cause any problem to the lens. It's just not secure the position(either AF or MF) firmly. The good thing is that it won't turn easily so you can shoot comfortably without worrying about the switch get switched unintentionally.
Everything else is in great condition. No scratch, no dust, no haze.
I think the more I describe the problem in details, the more confusing it gets. So in short, the A/M focus button doesn't work. Everything else is in great shape.
* it switches from M(anual) to (A)utofocus as normal, but the silver button does not pop up and lock it in that mode
* other wise works normally, including not randomly switching between M and A during normal focus or zooming
Right?
If all that is true, that is a terrific price on the lens. I love mine a lot. It is big, heavy pro glass, but it is a wonderful tool. Free bump!
This is one of the common problems with this lens. When I had mine, the ring actually cracked so I used a small piece of no residue gaffer tape to fix the ring to auto mode so it wont dis-engage by accident. GLWS.
