Has anybody gotten their Color Efex Pro 3.0 version to work with CS6 64bit? The latest version 3.110 works well with Photoshop CS5.1 64bit. I also can move the Color Efex folder to CS6 32bit version and it works well there. But it will not work with the 64bit CS6 version.
I realize Color Efex 4.0 is out there and officially supports CS6 64bit. But I do not see the need to upgrade and it seems that I am close to making it work with CS6 64bit. If it works with CS5.1 64bit and it works with CS6 32 bit, gosh, it should work with CS6 64bit. I am guessing there is some plugin registration that is going on with respect to CS6.
It sure does! Keep in mind that with just CS6 64bit installed, Color Efex Pro 3.0 v3.110 Complete will not extract the 64bit files and definitely will not identify the CS6 64bit Photoshop folder. I tried to to trick it by creating a dummy folder but either was unsuccessful with the naming convention or it really needed the full install of Adobe CS5.
So I ended up installing CS5 (five) 64bit. Then you install v3.110 and then move the Color Efex Pro folder over to the CS6 64bit Plugin folder. It will see it then. You might need to move the Selective Tools folder over as well. Try it first without it.
Note: v3.110 is the version that works with 64bit Photoshop. So if you have a earlier version, call Nik up and get the latest v3.110. They owe you that!
