The lens set is as complete in every respect as it came new from Canon, and it is BLEMISHLESS, except a few very minor/superficial marks on the hood flocking surface (those usually appear after the first time hood mounting on the lens).
I bought it brand new in Oct. 2010 from an authorised Canon dealer.
A replacement lens foot by 4th Gen. Design is included in the price.
The lens performance/IQ is excellent, IMO nothing else short of 400 IS MkII can touch it.
It is highly unlikely you could find a BETTER COPY of 400 f/2.8 IS MkI today, and a SAFER purchase.
