Dear alt members, I have that buying itch again! ha ha I have access to mint/new leica-r 35 f/2 rom and 50 f/2 rom. I have no use for rom lenses as it will go on a canon. I've been browsing the leica lens page (which clarifies things!) about the different types.
for the 35:
On the street - $US 2,995 in 2008 - 540 in 2010
for the 50:
On the street - $US 1,495 in 2008 - 600 (3-cam) - 790 (ROM) in 2010
I'm under the impression that the seller is wanting to sell. I've looked at jcowells db which say $995 for the 35 and 550 for the 50. I've been tracking ebay but there aren't that many ROMs for sale. What would be a nice lowball offer (especially the 35 since there is such pricing parity?)

A Zeiss ZE on your GH1? That means wide open shooting only, so I don't think you'll be too tempted to keep it (unless you have or get a Canon body for it).
I'm used to EF mounts on the GH1 already. I stuff an old EOS body in my back pocket. And whip it out whenever I need to change the aperture. It's only really a bummer for lens testing - where I wanna compare the performance at different apertures. The way i usually shoot I don't change the aperture hardly at all so it's no bother to use the EOS body to do it. And... it's a 21mm so there's like virtually no DOF difference between 2.8 and f/11 anyway.

Harry - what a great haul, at beer money prices!
My most recent purchase arrived today - a Leica-R Elmarit 60 f/2.8 with it's 1:1 macro adapter.
I almost went berserk and bought an EF-fit APO Lanthar 125 on eBay, but the Leica 60 was less than 1/3 the price. Without the adapter I figure it also gives me another walkabout lens. It's my 2nd Leica-R lens and I love the solid build quality.
Too many new lenses, insufficient time (taken) to learn any one well at this stage!
Update, 11:28pm 20 March: I just won an auction for a Contax N1 and 24-85 lens. The lens will be going to Conurus for EF conversion, but first I'll try my new film camera I expect to on-sell the N1 body in due course.

Last year in a fit of paying bills I sold my Leitz 560mm f/6.8 Telyt but last week I bought another one, this time with the Novoflex follow-focus grip. Should arrive in a few days
I promised to post an image from the XF 18mm f/2 today, but I'll have to defer. I'm shooting a white water kayak race tomorrow. The X-Pro 1 probably won't play a big role, but it'll be nearby, just in case.
P.S. the gear images above were taken with a Mamiya C 80mm f/4 N Macro - a nice lens, indeed!
Kewl! Some of the MD & MC Rokkors are just killer sharp! I got the MC 80-200/4.5 (constant aperture) not long ago and it was pretty incredible! About the same as the $1k Contax zoom of similar ilk. And about half the weight too.

Just picked up the lowly Series E 50/1.8. About the fourth or fifth one I've owned over the years. Looks pretty good from f2.8 from quick testing on my NEX-7.
The sad part? It was cheaper to buy it mounted on an EM than separate. I was at the local camera show (heaven for Alt or film users) and all of the solo 50/1.8's were at least $10 more than the EM/50E combo. Guess I'll be putting some seals in the EM and playing a bit.

Yes Bif.I see from some preliminary comparison shots that this Rokkor zoom is very close in ovearll IQ to my copy of C/Y Vario-Sonnar 80-200/4.And it has typical, very nice Rokkor colour rendition.
