p.39 #1 · What is your most recent (alt) lens purchase?
I have one of these:
Nikon Nikkor-P Auto 105mm 2.5 Nippon Kogaku Non AI
I use it on my 5DMkII via a Fotodiox Pro adapter.
I also have a Vivitar 135/2.8 Close Focusing in Nikon F mount.
I haven't experienced any issues with either of these.
Question to you both:
Does the hood scratch the lens barrel in any way?
I don't currently have the hood.
It seems to attach strangely to me.
The lens I bought is in pristine condition, a VERY good buy, to me, from of all places, eBay.

I had no mounting issues with my 3 Nikkors on 1.6x or 1.3x but the shroud that protects the rear element does prevent mounting on a 5D, but that's an easy fix, 3 side screws around the mount hold the shroud in place, then a file does the rest.
I hope to see some pics from it.

It shouldn't, I believe it just screws into the filter threads.
EDIT:
Looks like they also have a clip on style which yours may need, more info here on which yours needs. http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/lenses.html#105

Yeah, that hood causes scratches... On the inside of the lens's filter threads. That hood is both spring loaded like a typical lens cap and also has threads. So when you compress the spring to attach or remove it the hood's threads catch on the lens's own filter threads. After putting it on and taking it off 50 to 100 time the lens's filter threads start to look kinda raw. If you're worried about it put some " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">teflon pipe-tape on the hood's threads and that would likely protect the lens's threads. It might even come in black - I dunno.
Thanks for the compliment LightShow! I'll trade you the rose shot for your Tak 85. I keep looking for one but so far they're either too expensive or too messed up.

I hope I don't offend when I say HELL NO
I almost wish it had some brassing on it, then I wouldn't worry so much about it.
My S-M-C 105/2.8 is comparable and smaller, I still have to take more shots to get a feel for the lens, but so far the 85 is sweet.

Rollei Prego 90
Pros: Very impressive Schneider lens on the Prego. I try to keep it at 50mm. Plenty of feauters including intervalometer!
Cons: ISO setting is auto. Options go back to default after each shot.
The Talker has a great 35mm f/2.8 lens. But it's all auto so you don't know what aperture it's using.

I got myself the nex 5n and kit. Still learning the camera. Also got rokkor 58 f1.4 and 24 f2.8 lenses, but my adapter isnt here!
For the sake of insanity, i just ordered today a rokkor 600mm f5.6 from keh. Expect a full writeup when i get it... I couldnt find much about it in the net.

This guy's my most recent. I also got an Asanuma 90-230mm f/4.5, but that lens is less than stellar (though it looks pretty cool). Paid $25 for the pair.

Nikkor 50/1.8 E (on Nikon FE)
Jupiter 8 50mm/2.0 on a Zorki camera.
And more interessting a Schneider Kreuznach 6.5mm/1.8 CCTV 1" sensor C-Mount lens - I think good for some experimentation.

Neat lens Jim, I think they're using 'macro' vs. 'close focus'.

I picked up a ZF 50/1.4 off the boards and got it last week. I got it in anticipation of using it on the NEX-7 as I don't use the focal length much on FFs, but it's starting to change my mind on that. And someday I may even remember the focus turns the wrong way before turning it.
