I just paid for a nikkor-p.c 10.5cm 1:2.5 in ltm. the seller listed as a Nikon mount (clearly ltm and including ltm-m adapter) said glass was scratch free (certainly looks it in pictures) said there was wear on the barrel (all I see is dust between the ridges on the knurling).

We'll see how it looks when it arrives and after a clean. Will share shot of/with it asap

Arrived today, looks great! I have no time for a portrait of it right now, I'll use it at a wedding tomorrow and get some portraits to share. Reasonably sharp but great bokeh!

It's roughly the size of the Leica 75mm Summicron, but with a 270 degree focus throw!

For an image of a lens purchase it's not necessary to go that large though.

Just bought a Pentax Super Takumar 135/2.5 for $20 dollars. Just a single nick on the front element, and a little dust inside, nothing too serious.

Just got these and I haven't had time to even clean them up yet as I'm having too much fun with that little Nikkor Zoom (which I did clean b4 using :P) ! What a nice lens! Sharp, very nice bokeh, colorful, and zooming doesn't change the focus. I'll post some samples in a bit. Besides shooting with the Nikkor I've been given 8 PPC iLamps (iMacs) and updating them all has been a bizitch and a half.

Excellent value for money. Very sharp when stopped down but underperforms wide open, compared to Contax and Leica R 28's.

It's an excellent option if it were to be used mainly stopped down and size/weight are factors, such as when hiking.

Agree, but adds that it doesn't need to be stopped down very much either. On m4/3 a half a click (f/3.0 ?) will clean it up. On a FF I guess one full stop or maybe 1.5? I dunno for FF actually, just guessing from what I see on the GH1.

Either way, its insanely small so I think it will work well as nice point and shoot option...I just need to order an adapter...which will cost more than what I paid for the lense.

Mmmm, yeah, I guess. It is small, but I wouldn't use any adjectives in front of that. You're also sacrificing some IQ for that. Considering CA, Bokeh, color, and sharpness I like the oly the least here. It's still pretty good tho - even saying that.

http://tesselator.gpmod.com/Images/Temporary/28mm_Size_Compare_1240292.jpg

Oh, the one with the flipped cap is the Yashica 28/2.8. I guess the others are known? So, it is smaller but not really that much smaller - unless you're comparing it to 100mm lenses or something. Also I forgot to add in the Canon nFD 28/2.8 which is sized between the Takumar and the older Nikkor there but is lighter weight (I think) than all of these - And the Canon is extremely sharp!

I should add that after placing these on their respective adapters I don't notice any size difference at all. I do notice the Canon is lightweight and I notice that the Takumar has a smaller diameter - but that's all that really registers in me wee brain.

I have been shooting with a Olympus OM 28mm f/2.8 on my Canon 5D MK2 for a year now - and you will need to stop-down to f/5.6 inorder to get the most out of the lens on a full-frame digital camera. However - the lens delivers nice colours and that is a good reason to purchase this lens.

C/Y 50/1.4 ... Oh, I see... So it's a matter of relevance as well. Yeah, makes sense. A smaller replacement for the 50/1.4 is the C/Y 45/2.8. You lose a stop but it's a true pancake - thinner than the width of my thumb - and still delivers that Zeiss look.

Other pancakes that I myself am looking to try out:

I didn't notice that much CA. It's weird tho, I've had two of them and one showed CA wide open and the other didn't. Both had no CA at 3.5 tho. Here's the OM 28/3.5 which looks identical to the 28/2.8 at 3.5:

http://tesselator.gpmod.com/Images/_Image_By_Lens/Olympus_28mm_f3.5/_1040658.jpg

http://tesselator.gpmod.com/Images/_Image_By_Lens/Olympus_28mm_f3.5/_1040665.jpg

http://tesselator.gpmod.com/Images/_Image_By_Lens/Olympus_28mm_f3.5/_1040680.jpg

IIRC these are all wide open. The two tree ones may not be but I think they are. My SOP is to shoot the first day worth of test shots ALL at the lens's widest aperture - and these are all first-day shots. Day 1, I only stop down if the image is much over exposed at 1/4000 wide open. :P Such practices keep me knowing what's what since I can't edit EXIF properly...

WTF is someone going to grow some balls and write an editor which allows the user to batch edit all EXIF parameters? Gaaarrr!

I don't have the adapter to EF mount yet, not sure if I'll have to modify it either. lots of weird stuff on the back (it's my first nikon lens).
I don't really know what I've got my hands on here, the build feels very nice.

I had no mounting issues with my 3 Nikkors on 1.6x or 1.3x but the shroud that protects the rear element does prevent mounting on a 5D, but that's an easy fix, 3 side screws around the mount hold the shroud in place, then a file does the rest.
I hope to see some pics from it.
