crazeazn,
The market already exists. There are already many people (as you can see in this very thread) who buy alt. lenses. It pays off too. If you're not addicted to AF then as most alt users have already found out, alts are more often than not either just as good as modern lenses but way cheaper - or far superior to modern AF glass unless you're willing to spend $2k or more for a single lens.
I don't think this thread is enabling the buy me buy me mentality or mode, rather I think it's just some fun to see what others are getting into and/or a chance to brag a little about what you got last.

Its my enabling thread! I do have to say I have bought some excellent glass because of the alt. board. My canon L glass is a bit lonely b/c I havent used them very much.

My mint copy 24 ML was $150 three years back and I considered myself lucky given the prevailing rate of $200 ($400 should score a 21 ML). Some Yashica lenses are distinctly different from CZ lenses of the same FL: versus the Distagons 25 and 28, the 24 ML has no obvious linear distortion. That features comes in handy, and I can forgive the image going to pot in the corners. Plus, I love the size and ergos.
I've been following eBay prices lately and sadly it looks like $300+ right now is the buy-in for a 24ML. At those prices I'm thinking a 25/2.8 is a better choice. I'm not looking right now but I'll be adding to my C/Y kit once I free up some spending money next spring.

Minolta Rokkor 100/2 MC ... searching and waiting every day and night to find this rare lens for months and finally got it and very very happy with the rendering of this lens
I post the sample shots in Rokkor Tele thread.

A couple cheapie purchases in the last couple weeks:
- MF Makinon 28 f2.8 AI - sharp, this one is fantastic
- MF Kalimar 60-300 f3.9 AIS - definitely NOT 3.9 through it's range despite its markings. At same ISO and max aperture and at 300mm, it requires the same shutter speeds as my 70-300VR at f5.6. Also the front element doesn't seem nearly large enough for a 300mm f4 and DOF seems similar to the 70-300VR at f5.6. My guess is that it's really an f3.9-5.6. This one is surprisingly good. Not as far behind the 70-300VR in IQ as you would expect. It also focuses to about 4 ft at 300mm giving a 1:2.8 macro.
- MF DeJur 135 f2.8 AI - haven't tested this one. I expect it to be a dog but you never know with 135s - you can get some good off-brand ones.
- All for $41 shipped (plus an older manual flash - Focal 500M)
- Then 2 days ago my local shop had a tent sale and I picked up a Kiron-made MF Vivitar 75-205 Close Focus f3.8 non-AI for $19. Very sharp and definitely a stop faster than the 70-300VR at 200mm.

Well, it's not a Noctilux, I assume all caps was meant for some kind of sarcasm. That lens is quite interesting with a very in-your-face dreamy rendering style
