I might try to do a head to head comparison with the 100L macro, feels like they might be somewhat close in terms of performance, but the Zuiko 90 is about half the size (yet f2), so possibly better suited for traveling light

Indeed. If you don't need AF, IS and 1:2 is enough, it is perfect.

Bifurcator -- Nice shots with that 18-70!
I had that lens and was pretty happy with it -- very sharp and contrasty. But I was surprised to find my 18-105 VR even better, with wider range, AND stabilization. So, I sold the 18-70.

Nikon had got some very impressive kit lenses.
Thanks! I was impressed too! the colors in that one night shot were pretty wow and that's it unmodified.
Flare and ghosts are also extremely low. Best of all it looks cool mounted on a GH1. The weight and balance on the GH1 are superb. I only wish it was 14-70. Longer in the range isn't as interesting to me as wider! I love it at 18-24mm... past 24mm I'd rather use a prime.

My most recent alt, the Leica 180mm f/2 APO-Summicron-R. Once I finish comparing it to my Nikon 200mm f/2 VR, I will sell one of them again.

I am keeping the Leica. It is just so much smaller, and there are really only very small differences between the two in IQ. Each has strengths and weaknesses, but at this time, the Leica has the better balance for me. I have a thread going on this topic here:
I will probably start a thread here too, it is just so much work, and I think with the increased traffic here, a slightly different format might make more sense.

I just got a Leica R 50mm summicron, which together with my Zeiss C/Y mount 50 f/1.4 and my Rokkor 58 f/1.2 completes my normalish set of lenses. I also got a Rokkor 28mm f/2 that is being converted.

I just had a look at your other thread and it is quite shocking to see so much color shift on the Nikon 200/2. The blue cast is terrible and the lack of sharpness of the Duck is even worse.
This is not a parallel result I got from my shots but I have to say that I used the Nikon 200/2 V2 which might have changed the comparison a bit. Also surprisingly, the Bokeh of the Nikon 200/2 was better than the APO 180/2?!?! I experienced the opposite!
I think the APO 200/2 is a great lens and the Nikon 200/2 is a great lens as well.
It all boils down to the requirements and style of shooting and I am sure you came to the right decision.

I just bought a Jupiter 12 for my Voigtlander Bessa R2a. Unfortunately I only found out after the fact that it wont fit because of the rear element so now it will live on my Canon 7.
