I recently bought a contax g90 from Adorama and a Leica R APO 180 mm f3.4 from Keh. Both are excellent lenses. The contax looks brand new. I used Techart III for AF. It is not very accurate nor fast but is usable on the A6000. I have to fine tune the focus manually most of the time. The Leica 180 mm is a Series 7.5 and it was categorized as bargain at Keh. It doesn't come with any caps. I was skeptical to buy bargain but it was listed at a great prize. To my surprise, the lens is clean and in very good shape. The Leica looks compact but it is quite hefty. I found it not as easy to hand hold. At first, most of the pictures came out blurred. With more practice, I am now getting better. When I naiiled the focus, the image is razor sharp. ...Show more →
If you ever upgrade bodies, you'll enjoy a huge AF improvement for the Contax. It's nearly native speed on my A7rII and I've heard that's the case also for the A6300 and the A7II.

That is great to hear. I am planning to upgrade to A7rII next year. I've been buying less expensive camera bodies every year since moving away from the IPhone photography. From QX100 (what was I thinking) to NEX 5t to A6000. Was going to pickup a A7r due to the recent price discount. Decided to skip this year and go for the A7rII for the final upgrade. I really really want it though so I might not last for the entire year.

So, I must say that I'm feeling a little fortunate - the C/Y 35-70 arrived and the condition matched the seller's description. It's in very good shape other than some very light cleaning scratches on the front element (nothing that would come close to being detrimental in terms of IQ). For the $230 that I paid, I'm glad that I jumped on it -

Zeiss Jena Sonnar 200/2.8,m42 - bulky and heavy, but I like it's solid built and overall IQ.
I am testing the Planar 50/1.4 HFT,all metal,German made,59xx SN, and found it's aperture ring behaving strange, i.e. it has some play vertically and after being mounted on adapter it is hard to turn, especially when it's done fast.Is this normal behaviour of that lens?

I was planning to wait to get the new Voigtlander 10mm till I could see what the early adopters posted, well I've changed my mind, I'm now on the preorder list for the M mount.

I got about 30 new lenses to try,of that I'll probably keep only a few.
Today I briefly tested Tokina ATX 100/2.8 AF - not the latest, but the previous, much rarer model with RR 1:2.It very much resembles the bokina 90/2.5 in key aspects, like sharpness, colour rendition and smooth, smooth bokeh.

no!
mine has no vertical play and is easy to turn with deep well defined clicks.

85/4 ZM to be used on my A7RII . . . adjusting my light-weight kit for an upcoming 3 week trip to France, Italy, Switzerland. I was impressed by the wide open sharpness and the resistance to flare and ghosting when pointed at the sun.

Old Leica/Minolta Vario Elmar 80-200/4.5 - I was positively surprised with this lens.It does very well on the A7 and good/very good on the A7R.I will keep it.
Also the Leica/Sigma Vario Elamar R 28-70/3.5-4.5 is good/very good on the A7,but not so on the A7R (corners).Having the better VE R 35-70/4, I'll probably skip it.
Silver Elmar M 90/4 from 1950ties is also very sharp, but due to old coatings, contrast suffers and it's prone to flare.I'll keep it though.
Older Nikkor AF zooms - 24-120/3.5-5.6 and 35-105/3.5-4.5 are good/very good on the A7 either.I will keep the 24-120 as walk around for both FF and APS-C.

Pulled the trigger for a pretty much used Contax Vario-Sonnar 35-70mm f3.4 which will complement my beaten Distagon 28mm f2.8 and the minty Sonnar 100mm f3.5 as a landscape kit. IQ is ridiculously good as long as you don't need anything wider than f8 and if you nail the focus of course...
Mechanically it is not 100% perfect (which results in some focus shift at 70mm) but given its comparatively low price and the quality of its output I will keep it. Makes me less afraid of giving it proper usage too...

Great IQ and vey compact. The SMC Pentax 85mm f/1.8 has the same diameter as the Canon RF 85/1.8 S, and it's only 5mm longer, including adapters. Plus, the K is way less expensive.

Nice lens Jim, I've been looking at getting one fora while now.
I've been trying to reduce my purchases but a nice CZJ 1Q 58/2 T Biotar in Exakta came up, another one I've been wanting for a long while. http://ssli.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjYxWDcwMA==/z/TuEAAOSw9VZXOXS0/$_1.JPG
