I also enjoy using this lens very much and keep two MMJ copies. It's overall performance on the A7/R is probably somwhere below 28/2.8 and above 25/2.8.Very decent.
On MM version, what is the aperture shape @ f/4? Like many other AEs aperture is "broken hexacon"/"ninjastar" @ f/4, but normal hexacon @ f/5.6. This was little disappointing, but was expected, based on other AE-lenses.

35/2.8 MM has regular hexagon at f4.I have a couple of AE lenses (25/2.8 AEG,45/2.8 AEJ,50/1.4 AEJ,135/2.8 AEJ and 180/2.8 AEG).All have ninjastar apertures at lower settings.I haven't noticed though significant bokeh difference.

Replacement copy of C/Y Sonnar 100/3.5 MMJ.Great little lens.Fotga EF-Sony E adapter,It's at least as good as Metabones Mk III for 7x less money. And more compact too.
I'm just back from shooting some Zeiss ZE lenses with Fotga adapter.I noticed some play in the body mount. With heavy lens like 100/2 Makro Planar and tiny body like NEX5N,when the combo is tilted down, connection between camera and adapter may be disrupted, causing exposure error. It happened once in about 200 exposures, with the NEX5N only,so I still regard the Fotga adapter a good buy.My 7R did not show that behaviour. Metabones MKIII is tight.

I bought a cheap one made by Pixco that works fine. I originally got one from Bonds (no-name make) and it wouldn't fit so it had to go back. I'm using it with the 100mm Planar.

Thanks mcbroomf.
As it happens I later read some reviews giving the Fotodiox Pro model very mediocre ratings (and you can readily find Chinese ones looking identical for 20% of the price). I've ended up buying a 2nd hand Kipon one. More expensive but we'll see.

24mm M645 fish.
I had one of these in 2008 and used it on a Canon 1ds2. I returned it as it wouldn't focus to infinity (not even close and I knew the adapter was OK with other M645 lenses)

PS. 25mm Batis is also on order ... can't have enough 24-25mm lenses

i bought a Minolta CLE with 28 40 90mm lens.
but here in Germany DHL strikes
so the gear is only 15 km away in the DHL central Warehouse (?)
since 1,5 week!

Will do, although my Mirex-Canon-Sony interface leaves a little to be desired. I was using it for a while with my 150/2.8 M645 and had trouble getting images without vibration blur. I ended up getting an M645-Sony adapter and it's good now.

Went on a spree to see what my new A7 can do and got a Rokinon 85 1.4, CV Nokton 50 1.1 and Zeiss 35 2.0 ZM.
Just started playing with them, all very sharp, but what stands out the most is the ZEISS colours: very warm, to the point of my questioning whether the white balance was off.
Will post some samples soon..

Went on a bit of a Leica R binge..
35-70 f4
50 lux (3 cam)
28 elmar 2.8 (v1)
I got the last two from KEH, and plan on comparing them against their planar/distagon C/Y MMJ counterparts. I expect the summilux to be a bit better than the planar overall, but not sure on that 28mm v1. That one might go back if the C/Y 28 2.8 severely outclasses it.

I'd really like to see what you are up to with the LF/MF lenses and the a7. Can you post some setup photos?
Jim, sorry this took so long. I had a crazy work week, but here's the Actus with the standard bellows and rotating camera mount. Also in the photo, you can see the ACB-310, which is the wide angle bellows for the Sony a7 series. You can get lens plates for Copal 0 and 1, m39, Leica R, Nikon F, Canon EF (with aperture control), Hassy V, Mamiya 645, Mamiya RB/RZ, Pentax 67, and Pentax 645. The rear standard allows for 12mm rise, 15mm fall, and 20mm shift in either direction (for a total of 40mm). The front standard can rotate 180 degrees for virtually unlimited swing and can tilt 10 degrees in either direction.
The standard bellows gets you about 30mm between the front of the rear standard and sensor, so it can handle most view camera lenses 50mm and up. With the Sony in portrait orientation, I can also get to infinity on the Schneider 47 SA MC, which is the film version of the new 47 APO-Digitar, without interference, but switching to landscape moves the sensor back just enough so 47 has to go inside the rear standard. You can use the standard bellows with any of the medium format lenses.
The ACB-310 allows down to 22mm between the front of the rear standard and the sensor, so it will work with the Rodenstock 32, 35, and 40 HR's as well as the APO-Grandagon 45 (pictured), and the Schneider 35 XL, 38 XL, and 43 APO-Digitar. The wide bellows also allow enough extension to use with any of the medium format lenses so long as you use the lens' helicoid to focus.

Thanks for sharing this Brad, much appreciated. I recently bought a 2nd hand P645D and have a few 645 and P67 lenses as well as my A7R so this is a salient time to consider options.
It also seems a pity that Cambo offer an M39 plate option but not LM.

My pleasure, David. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised by the number of 135 format mount plates they offer, particularly the effort behind developing an electronic aperture control function for the EF mount. The small image circles are going to make them of limited use on the system for perspective control. With FF cameras, anyway.
My intent with the system had been to use it entirely with Hassy and Mamyia RB/RZ lenses. Then I picked up the Rode APO-Grandagon 55 and the original plan changed quickly. I haven't even bothered looking at the pricey "made-for-digital" lenses offered by Rode and Schneider. Their analog lenses are just too good.
