Makes a big difference for me: I already have the 35/2.8, and an XPan, but no PC lens I doubt the regular 35 comes anywhere near covering the XPan's negative.

National Camera Exchange had a CY Sonnar 85/2.8 and Hassy XE 1.4x up for decent prices on the bay, so now they are mine. I wish they had gone up when the bucks percentage was higher, but these are the things we cannot control.
Please remind me that I said that when the percentage goes up tomorrow.

Yes - I'll report my findings! And yes, I knew that the WATE was a true zoom, whereas the MATE is not. Thanks for your feedback!
Some testing of the MATE done here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1332946 Please don't judge - I'm not a great lens tester... I just want to help out anyone else considering the MATE. Short version? On the A7S it's pretty sweet.

Another non-purchase...

I went to my aunt's memorial service last Thursday and found myself inheriting her photo gear. Not quite a purchase so it might not belong here, but it was an acquisition.
At this same memorial service, one of my dad's cousins came up to me and asked if I "liked Zeiss lenses." They're OK, I guess. :P She asked if I'd have any use for her mom's old Zeiss lenses. It turns out that I have a lot of keen photographers in my extended family!
On Saturday, they emailed to let me know that they had packed everything up and sent it my way, with an expected delivery later this week. I can't wait to see what my great aunt Ev - a great name for a photographer - used to shoot. I have no idea what kind of camera or mount these lenses might be, or what era they're from, but I look forward to continuing to keep her collection in use in the family.

Of these three (and the SMC Pentax 50/1.2), I think the Oly is best.
I also agree with Brad that the CZ MP 50/2 ZE is an excellent choice. It's my choice, along with the Canon 501/2.L.
Oly 50/1.2 is a great performer, and its relatively small. My guess is the Oly 50/1.2 is smaller than the Zeiss ZE 50/2 MP (which I have not owned - to slow).

Oh yeah! The Oly 50/1.2 almost fits inside the hood of the CZ MP 50/2 ZE. Give me a few minutes...
Oops! Cancel that! I was comparing the 50 ZE to the Oly 21/3.5, I sold the Oly 50/1.2 a few years ago.
Anyway, the Oly 50/1.2 weighs 0.29 kg, is 43mm long, has 65mm diameter, and takes a 49mm filter. The CZ 50/2 ZE weighs 0.53 kg, is 88 mm long (without hood), has 72mm diameter, and takes a 67mm filter.

But a nice one! Why would you hope for no more lenses?
I went a bit overboard this year, I'm not working Dec. or Jan. plus gifts to buy....

Me too man. Me too. The same 100/2.8 you got, 75/2.5 Summarit, CV75/2.5, CV75/1.8, C/Y 135/2.8, a D750 in addition to the A7 I got just before the year started, an 85/1.8 AF-S, 24-120 AF-S, 70-300 AF-S, Mamiya 645 Pro TL with 55, 110, and 150/2.8 and too many accessories, Mirex Tilt/Shift, and I don't even think that's it.
I'll definitely sell two of the 75's, and there are several other things in there I'll probably sell, but still, jeez.

Three Zeiss lenses: 2/25 1.4/35 2/135
Leica: 1.4/80
The 2/25 is my main landscape lens. The 1.4/35 will be an instrument to explore new techniques with as will the 2/135—not a typical focal length for me, but its reputation is so epic that I felt it worthwhile to play with it creatively. The 1.4/80 'Lux will be my main portrait lens. I also have Zeiss 2.8/25 2/50 2/100 and Leica 1.4/50. Also the Canon 24mm TS-E II, woefully underused (need adapter).
My collection is pretty much complete and it's time to do some major shooting but still on my radar are the CV 125 macro and 2.8/100 Leica.
