For me, it is Leica Wide Angle Tri-Elmar (16-21). I need some more time with it, but I think it will be a keeper. For some reason, I find the Canon 17L T/S big on the A7r so I suspect that will be going up for sale....

It's better than the 21/3.5 at all apertures, basically. (jcolwell, you have had these, I seem to recall?) I had both for a while, the 21/3.5 wins on size but otherwise the f/2 is the better lens, I think.
the 21/2 is a gem, no doubt. But for most gorgeous OM lens I think I would have to nominate the OM 24/shift. One could drown in that beautiful front element...
My most recent alt purchase was a Super Angulon 47mm XL.

Thanks - it is a gorgeous little lens, my favorite OM so far. I don't personally have a 21/3.5 but based on what I've seen posted the f/2 is at least as good at f/4 and obviously much better at f/2 and f/2.8...
I had this years ago, but sold it as I did not think its resolving ability was up to modern digital sensors. Wish it were different as it just exuded quality in its build. Loved the built in filters, etc. However, I was happier with the Canon shift lenses--especially the newer ones. Course, now I find the 17L too big with my new Sony A7r. Wish I had a smaller shift lens again.....

Since we're on a Zuiko kick, I just received an OM 50mm F2 auto-macro. Initial tests suggest it's very sharp and renders nicely. I was hoping for something like the Zeiss 50MP in a smaller, cheaper package and so far it seems to deliver.

luvwine, yes that's the one I was talking about. What a jewel that is. Bummer that yours was not up to par (?). At the time, they were better than the Canon 24/TS-E Mk1, and had more shift, but I expect the mk2 and 17/TS-E have caught up at this point. I had 2 of them at one point (24/shift) and the 35/shift MC-version also. All were great. The 35 was amazingly small, all things considered, and basically covered 645 format.

Ed, what did you shoot the OM 24 on? My recollection was that the Canon 24 was as sharp or sharper. The Zeiss 35 PC definitely sharper, and the new 17 and 24 Canon T/S are even better. I was frankly disappointed with the OM shift as it was my first pricey alt lens and I sold it at a loss. Wish it had been better. It did have a lot of shift and great build quality. Sigh.....

My latest alt lens is a perfect OM 50/2 macro. I bought it in anticipation of a Sony A7, but have put that body one hold for now. I bought an OM 40/2, as well.

Buying them here in Oz Kit? I've noticed some OM lenses on sale licly here on eBay! Incidentally that OLED EVF I bought from you is in Peru right now on its Nex5N, with my stepdaughter and her boyfriend

Ah, Cliff: it is a perfect copy! Thank you. Actually, now that I have had a chance to mount it on the GX-7, I find it's just a bit too heavy for me—want to buy it back (discounted, of course!). Cheers, KL

I gave in to temptation and bought a Zuiko 21mm f3.5 MC - the asking price was a little higher than I wanted to pay, but it included the original hood (which some eBay sellers think is worth over $100 on its own... )
p.151 #19 · What is your most recent (alt) lens purchase?
Those 21/3.5 hoods are rare. $100 might be much but they easily fetch $50-75 on the open market, no problem.
luvwine: I shot the OM 24 shift on the EOS film cameras (1VHS mainly). I always found it a nice lens, but with the 24/TS-E mk 2 out now, that is another (better?) option for Canon shooters too, which might have affected price/value of the OM 24 shift.
