I've been working on a snowflake pic all month but wasn't able to come up with anything I was happy with. I had pretty much given up. Yesterday on my lunch break I was taking some photos of holly berries when this landed on a leaf next to the berries.

Yes indeed, this is a large moth, belonging to the family Saturniidae - Giant Silkworm Moths. Most if not all of them have "eyespots" on their wings.
The cropped version gives greater dimensionality to the flake, the full leaf makes it almost appear like it was PSed in at first glance. My humble suggestion would be go for the crop but consider a little more of the ice on the upper edge for context ... Good Luck
