Not only a dedicated thread, the lens also has its own helicoid...
And a great lens it is.

I'm getting mine next week, for some
weird reason I'm getting two (in like new
condition), don't ask why, but
I might help Philipe out
both MMJ versions
Ryan, the g21 is not useable, because of colour fringes. I am keeping it for now in the hope that the NEX 7 will improve yet agains over the 5N in this respect. I would try any RF UWA before I committed, if I were you.
Regarding your suggestion of the CV, I tried recently a CV 75 and a 50 f:1.5. Both were a delight to use, and very sharp. But both had a colour rendering which gave me grief, some kind of blue cast compared to a Zeiss. I might have been able to create a profil that eliminated that, but, frankly, I was too lazy. Is that something you experienced as well?

That's a great buy Andrew... what's wrong with a back-up?
I would like to once again have a C/Y Distagon 35/1.4 in my shelf. The Distagon is one of those lenses which never let me down. I'm not sure it's the right lens for a Nex though.
I tried...I tried very hard...Did my best...BUT STILL...I failed. I wasn't able to resist temptation...I bought a single kit lens bundle White NEX 5N today...
It's sitting in front of me now while typing this...
The hardest part is the waiting time for my alt lens adapters to arrive...

Jonas I wasn't planning to get two and will list one here later next week
I think the size is perfect for NEX, it's compact and it is lighter than ZE version.
Can't wait to be honest. I've never had such amazing glass as I have now
and I'm really enjoying it with my 5N.
Since I got my CV 125, I have this stupid idea to trade my 2/100MP ZK
to Contax Planar 100 f2. But my 100MP is my favorite lens and I will regret it!
What do you think?
Philippe and Andrew, Thank you your nice comments. I was lucky with the light and for no reason I just had to stretch for the camera.

If you had been in the EU I would have been tempted to buy one of the copies. Now I'm lucky already having the CV35/1.2 so there is no real need, just a vague temptation...
I'm not what people would say a wise man Andrew. But I'm old enough to refrain from giving out advices when somebody is about to ditch their favourite lens!
If you are happy with the CV 125/2.5 (a truly great lens) then why would you need another macro in the focal length area? Do you miss the last bit of bite wide open? What can you wish for more than what you showed us in the CV125 thread with the secret lens? (I've never used the C/Y 100mm macro.)
I've been extremely happy with my 2/100MP, I have taken some
amazing images with it, many just recently with my NEX-5N.
Like the train picture or the water flower pictures...
But CV 125 is a better macro lens, no doubt.
So my thinking was - why not to try Contax Planar 100 f2 (not the macro one)
for the legendary 3D look, possibly, and this is a big "if", better 3D look
than my 100MP. That way I would have the best macro lens in the world
and a great 3D rendering 100mm lens for everything else.

Here's a shot of Sammy, our Keeshond, taken earlier today. NEX-5N with Nikon 105mm f/2.5 AiS lens. I was actually playing with the EVF, which arrived yesterday. Found it easy to use for this kind of shooting, and easy to manually focus through the EVF, and using focus peaking. The only issue with this shot is the focus point actually was a bit forward of Sammy's right eye, which was my target. Still, it was a pleasure to use the EVF vs. trying to do the LCD in mid-day sunlight.

FPF, I briefly had a G 90 before it was stolen along with my NEX 5, and it is a special lens. Its stellar reputation is well deserved, even by comparison with a Leica 90mm Summarit f:2.0. I still have some pics somewhere if that can help you decide. Not that I hate the G 28, my present walk-about lens...
I had that lens, Philipe. While I agree its a very good one, the focus via metabones adapter wasn't smooth and if you use the camera in vertical orientation, it becomes more of a problem! Since then its all ZM's and ZF for me.
So you're saying the Contax is better than the summarit?
The Summarit has lovely colours, perhaps even nicer than the Contax, frezeiss. And of course it is one stop faster. But it just doesn't measure up when it comes to sharpness and 3D. Besides, the Contax is much smaller, lighter and cheaper.

Congratulations on your new camera, Jason! Have fun! When you put some alt glass on your 5N, you are in for a treat. Contax G 28 and 45 can be had inexpensively and work wonders.... just sayin'....
What kind of adapter do you get for Contax G lenses? I assume C/Y to NEX?
