No, Chris, the Contax G was a rangefinder camera, so G lenses are compact like today's Zeiss ZM range, whereas the C/Y were DSLR lenses, like today's ZE/ZF range. Also, the Contax G camera had in-camera focusing, so the adapter needs to have a focusing ring, because G lenses don't have any. The two brands that I know of are Kipon, and Metabones; I use Kipon.
I have the Minolta adapter and using some of my fathers old film lenses for the NEX. I still don't know if I want a complete Minolta kit or start investing in some Zeiss lenses. Any help on this? I don't have many Minolta's. Just a 50/2 MD and some third party zoom. Been eyeing that 24/2.8 and possibly a 135.
Any thoughts for a new NEX owner and a new Zeiss (possible) owner.
I own Nikon glass but kinda want to stay away from using it. I would like to use alt manual focus lens with this camera.

you'll save a lot of money going the minolta route. they have very different looks though. you can look through c/y picture thread and rokkor normalish picture thread to get an idea which you prefer. c/y zeiss and minolta lenses are roughly the same size (big) while contax g zeiss are rangefinder lenses that could make the kit much smaller.

Since I got my CV 125, I have this stupid idea to trade my 2/100MP ZK
to Contax Planar 100 f2. But my 100MP is my favorite lens and I will regret it!
What do you think?
Never sell a favorite lens! Save up, buy the 100/2 and once you are sure, sell the one you like less.

What ultra-wide options (not fish-eye) are available for the Sony NEX e-mount (also adaptable) now (or in the future) ?
Not many, CV 12 seems to be OK, still not sure how good it really is.
In the 15mm range there is a few, including CV and Pentax 15 Limited.
You might look into some of the ultra-wide options for crop cameras,
Tokina zoom is quite good.
Sony 16mm seems to be hit or miss.
In the 18mm range there is a few good lenses, Zeiss 18 ZM
or 3.5/18 ZK/ZF - I have this one and it's very good IMO.
Not "ultra-wide" though...
I am contemplating to buy the new NEX-7, but in any case I will not abandon my EOS 5D II (not yet). One reason is the lack of quality ultra-wide options on the NEX. My present combo 5D II / Nikon 14-24mm can hardly be matched by the NEX system. The disadvantage of course is the weight I have to carry.
There is also the Contax Zeiss 18mm f/4, which is quite good, but not as good as its longer counterparts. It lacks a bit in terms of microcontrast and sharpness. Also, it is not very large and heavy.
I also have the Voigtländer Color-Scopar 21mm f/4. I am struggeling a lot with this lens as a lot of smearing and color casts happen, not only in the corners and I have not managed to build a cornerfix profile that solves all problems. Also, the colors it produces are quite retro.
I can try to find some examples on my harddrive if you want, Rudi, and I can also bring the lenses on the 8th to Berlin.

Unfortunately until there is a FF NEX, this is not gonna happen.
It's a crop camera
But if you shoot f5.6-11 and like ultra-wide, you should really look
at one of the ultra-wide zooms designed for the crop cameras.
The image quality at those apertures will be very good.
I'm sure this kind of lens will be the very first creation when
we get something from Sigma etc made for E-mount

Voigtlander 15/4.5 maybe? Where it doesn't quite match up with IQ from the Nikon it makes up for that by being very petite and keeping the NEX-7 body small. Sounds like a great travel setup.
Edit: Just read your former post. Both the 12/5.6 and 15/4.5 are supposed to be very good. I'd also be weary of reviews with those lenses on a NEX-3 or 5 (the former bodies). The new 3C and 5N are supposed to be much better in regards to corner performance with such wide angle lenses, specifically exhibiting better corner performance with those two particular lenses.
