@SWarnock: Impressive what you achieve with this camera! Especially like the last one with the colors. Did you use the onboard flash and some PP since colors and contrast are very well balanced?
+1! Great stuff!
Season of Touit - Picture 4 Week 34, Saturday - The Green Lodge
"Sometimes you find yourself in odd places. Some time ago I had a chance to sleep couple of nights in a Finnish hotel that had really interesting atmosphere and outlook. Located in the middle of the forest in a place with no particular meaning, it reminded me of the 'Black Lodge' which is a dreamy fictional setting featured in the television series Twin Peaks. It is also known as the red room, an extra dimensional place, where Agent Cooper goes and meets with the dwarf (which speaks backwards), the giant and the Bob. Much in the same way, although it was green, this hotel had an odd atmosphere where time had stopped somewhere in the 70s, karaoke songs were playing in empty hall, people were over-friendly strangers and I had difficulties to understand why I was there (another story). While the Black Lodge is located in agent Coopers dreams, I was, much like agent Cooper, trying to find idea inside my head how to capture this odd place.

The pictures of the building with the statuary are very impressive. How is the A 6000 to use. Are the controls easy to use or do you have to go into the menus?

"What is great about the Zeiss Touit 2.8/50M is that it offers great versatility by serving as a standard lens and being optimized for macro photography as well. From the macro photography's point of view this means that it allows one to focus very close up and renders excellent image quality because the optical concept is optimized for shorter camera-to-subject distances. Of course anyone wanting to take close-up shots with his camera for the first time can also capture images below the close-up limits of his lens with the help of affordable accessories, such as close-up lenses and extension rings. Close-up lenses work as eyeglasses for close-up pictures as they magnify the original picture and extension rings allow one to dive considerably deeper into close-up range. However, one cannot expect that [...]"
Posting from my ipad, hopefully these show up correctly. Really trying to resist the pull to move to the A7! So, I got out the old lens turbo and nikon manual focus glass and took a quick walk. All with the 28mm, 2.8.
Season of Touit - Picture 6 Week 35, Saturday - The Warning
"Now that I've introduced the lenses I'm using for next seven weeks (Zeiss Touit 2.8/12 and Touit 2.8/50M), I would like to move to actual shooting experience. Starting with the Touit 2.8/12 the foremost feeling that I've felt shooting with it is the feeling of being secure. I know it sounds weird at first, but this feeling is related to a fact the 2.8/12 replaces my wide-angle needs to which I've used the Sony kit lens (SEL1855) before. Working in wide-angle with the kit lens I always had to be careful not to cross certain limits of the lens. For example, I often had to make sure [...]"
