It is Alwang, who could make a pinhole camera look like a Distagon 21. When others are quite capable of making a Distagon 21 look like a pinhole camera...:-)

Thanks guys, for the kind words. The CV 15 really does deliver, though. I've informally compared it to the Samyang 14 on NEX, which most would agree is excellent optically. There's more resolution to be had with the Samyang, particularly in the corners, but the microcontrast of the CV makes images really pop, and makes manual focusing much easier. I also love how close I can get to subjects pairing the CV15 with the Hawk's adapter. Finally, there's the small matter of the Samyang being at least 3 times the size of the CV.

SEL1018

8-16 would have been better, but the lens is light, and when the AF really hits, its semi-sharp. I still crave a CV12 and admire the 15. To my mind, with the cropped sensor a good <16 is critical.

Here's the heavy sigma 8-16 alpha at 8mm:

you guys think OSS should be on or off for bright landscapes with 1018 sony?

thanks, i had a 5N and 3 waiting in the wings so i'm gonna wait a while and see what else is on the horizon before i think about replacing it. also, i'm kinda still in the honeymoon phase with my rx1 so i'm not really thinking about other cameras...

here's some of the last pics i took with the 7 before it's untimely demise:

Grat work from the usual suspects! My fave's are Joan's kitchen pic, The very Reevsian cemetary, and Derek's final shots with his NEX 7. Sorry Derek. But the silver lining is that will take any guilt off replacing it with its soon-to-be-announced successor

Nice shots on 624 everyone
Love the mining country shots uhoh7
sebboh- missed the story of the Nex 7. Sorry to hear it.
Phillip - you are the master of the back-lit landscape. I keep trying to capture the technique

I have been away from this forum for a while, also captivated by the RX1 but here is a shot of today's early morning mist in the mountains just as the sun made it light enough to take a picture. Nex 6, Zeiss Jena 135mm F/3.5 wide open.

Hand-held - on; tripod/wall/etc - off. Nice sharp shots.

Wasps are omnipresent around here at the moment looking for food. Apparently the workers in the nest lick a sweet sticky substance off their larvae for food, but after the larvae hatch in late summer they have to go out foraging. Marmalade provided the bait for these! F3 + Vivitar (Komine, FD mount) 90/2.8 macro:
