Thanks, Jim. I bought a Nex 7 later on, but kept the 5n; I've thought about converting it to IR, but...when I look at files from the little camera I see a painterly ? quality missing from the 7. So far, no conversion.
This 1892 former City Hall is the building I photograph more than any other in our city. When the light is right and the clouds are interesting I just can't help taking another picture. In my opinion, the dramatic sky and the intense red Victorian brick are enhanced by a saturated, structured look. Nex 6 - Minolta Zoom MD 35-70mm Macro

beautiful tulips, are you getting them now in Australia, know that our seasons are reversed.
Thanks very much. These are from the Sydney Botanical Gardens yesterday. Looking forward to fall colour shots from you guys on the top half of the world!
Philip - impressive SEL5018 sharpness at f1.8! (I wonder how it compares against OM 'made in Japan' 50/1.8, one of the sharpest wide open?)
Vivitar (Komine) 28/2 'close focus'. Consider these "Phillip Reeves lite" - I now see, think and refer to late evening sun through trees as "a Phillip Reeves scene", much to the confusion of my partner! :-)
@skumar forgot to say: sweet cooper shot Many other good shots up there by everyone. Phillip I like that cemetary. ebookman: those bricks are ready to fall out of my apple cinema on to my desk! Alan: excellent wasp shots
Not a huge selection of architecture here--- aside from sundry personal mansions, but we are blessed with incredible variety of rocks
Bought a Mitakon lens turbo for my NEX-7, and tried the Zeiss 100/2 ZF today. This is wide open, 1/1250s and ISO 400. A little cropped. Snapped a pic of our prime minister.
That "umbrella-fellow" aka prime minister is well known in this neighboring country too since the Utöja massacre, love it and very well captured Glaso. I have the Contax version of that lens and it's an unusually attractive piece of optics proven yet again.
Also, joevain - very special kid shots like that are rare, yours is superb.

This fine car broke down as a rotten fuel tank revealed itself by delivering too much unwanted things into the twin SU carburetors so it simply stopped.
..so we took into a hotel room mid Sweden with a view over the freeway
..same window another angle
