Never saw that, awesome colors and comp! I see its ISO3200 but have you added grain to it?

thanks! no grain added in fact i actually did a bit of noise reduction prior to downsizing/sharpening (i did boost the exposure to nearly 6400 as well). shooting in fog seems to drastically increase the noise. i presume this is due to the drastic reduction in actual scene contrast, which makes noise more visible. in any event, i'm not sure what to do about it other than just convert to b&w and accept the noise.

Nice shot, Morty! Where is that? Is it an olympic construction, or just a normal, everyday fjord dive board?

thanks!

i also took a version of it at iso 12800 because i wasn't confident in my ability to handhold in the heavy wind at 1/15s. now i'm kinda thinking i like that version better. here it is in b&w with no noise reduction:

Oh It's already art, but how about adding some local contrast?

Also nice, but I prefer the first one somehow. I think digital noise just doesn't reach film noise yet.

No, DR is probably too good on that sensor still.

i'm still fiddling with clarity and black levels, but the grain makes it tricky. looks totally different at different output sizes from lightroom even with no sharpening.

B&W is far better IMO.

I like the grain in the first, but I prefer the darker blacks in the others.

#1 seems most authentic, #2 seems as good balance, #3 dunno if there is pattern noise (banding) or not, but it seemed bit like that..

I would try either push 1 towards two or just go with either 1 or 2. Probably 1 as it preserves mood...

Nice pics Jim - they will help with the sale!

Derek - what a cool shot. I actually like the B&W a little better but both are super cool.
