beautiful!

i've seen a lot of shots that i love from the zm18 on the nex and hardly any from the sigma 19. are you thinking of selling the zeiss now that you have the sigma? it is a good focal length for the zeiss look imo.

Thanks - that was my original intention.

I wonder if the lack of good Sigma 19 shots is because of the dearth of people using it (considering most people consider it the "lesser" of the two Sigmarits). The Sigma lens reminds me a bit of my old Nikon lenses - very crisp, but a little bland, and somewhat digital. I think with careful processing, they could be made to shine. Maybe I should revisit some of them.

The Zeiss has uniform sharpness out to the corners, very contrasty and great color, but also has color shift on the NEX-7, so that's kept me from shooting a lot with it, even though I have Cornerfix (still haven't opened the application, though!).

I have faith that somebody will release an E-mount wide angle lens that will perform well on the NEX-7 (like, oh, Zeiss porting the ZF 15 design, hint hint), and I also have the LAEA2 adapter, so have been thinking about getting the Sigma 8-16 or Tokina 11-16, or maybe a Pentax 15 Ltd.

Short answer is, if somebody made me an offer I liked for the lens, I'd sell it.

Nice shots partitura. The first one is part of a phenomenon that have appeared in the archipelago since a few years. Various small island has been overtaken by cormorant birds, everything dies on those islands and trees turns white. Fishermen complain as these birds apparently eats massive amounts of fish too, so your #1 shot is also a local political testimonial :-)

Nice shots on this page.

Still learning my new NEX-7 which I am liking a lot. Here's two images one with the CV35/1.2 II and the other with the Oly zuiko 21/3.5. I haven't used the Oly in quite some time but it does a pretty good job!

Thanks very much, wfrank. I had no idea about the islands being taken over by the cormorant birds, but I could tell that something strange was going on with the trees. That passageway into Stockholm was so gorgeous - I wish I had a lot more time there.

Here are three more, all taken with the Rokinon 14mm

Okay, I took a few rejects from a recent Sigma 19 outing a had and put them through Color Efex. Sigma's rendering is very neutral, so it's a little more of a blank canvas with these versus starting to edit a ZM photo.

partitura - all three of those are wonderful.

Spent a few hours today with my new-to-me Voigtlander 180/4 apo-lanthar. I like it.

Nex 3 + Pentaco 50mm 1.8 wide open, Vivid +1/-1/+1 ooc
haven't expected it to be so sharb wide open
I think it depends on accurate focussing and light conditions (cloudy in this one) and for this
lens you need a good hood (i have a tele hood on it right now an it works way better than without)

Bob, your Oly shot and the Hawks ones are cracking good!
Corposant, your "leaving Stockholm" and your Gulf of Finland are wall hangers!
Sebboh, how you handle that very long lens on a NEX, I'll never know, but you make it work for you!
On my end, 4 from churches in Rouen. I am just delighted with the DR of the nEX7 in such conditions, as well as with the Elmar 24, maybe the best lens I ever owned.

Partitura, really like "Leaving Stockholm", I have not been that happy with the Samyang 14 on the NEX. But you pulled things together, and nice PP!

Goleez, love the contrasty BW's.

Philber, those French Gothic cathedrals are just amazing. If I am not mistaking, that particular one pushed limits one step further vault-wise, and therefor have a special story (as if the other 40 didnt...).

Here's the same ship (as partituras) in harsh spring light with visible ice damage. Coming to think about it that ship looks like something that could be part of a Tintin book. Do not pay too much attention to PP, just experimenting.. this should be with the Contax G 28

absolutic, there are no images in your post, just frames.

wfrank - I wish we could have visited during my one day in Stockholm. I think I knew somewhere in the back of my mind that you lived there, but it did not percolate up enough in my brain to think to contact you in advance. Amazing that you have a photo of the same ship. I was surprised to find that the Baltic is really busy with traffic. The ice damage is really noticeable!

I would say that the Samyang 14 is an interim solution for me. I do like it, and I don't think I have yet learned how to get the best out of it. I need to practice more with it. Like many of us, I guess I am still on the hunt for a great ultra wide on the Nex. Maybe the Leica Tri Elmar is that lens, but that is way out of my price range!

Phillipe - I really love your church images. I took a bunch during this last trip, and don't think I was really that successful. I'll spend some more time looking at them and doing some PP, and see what I come up with.

Sebboh - Those owl images are amazing.

Bob - The Oly seems pretty impressive, and the two B & W images are wonderful.
