That would have been something. Sometimes the world is small, something like 10 years ago I was a frequent traveler to RIchardson just a stonethrow from Plano, Texas - which I saw in your profile now. Ericsson (a cellular infrastructure company) used to have substantial presence there (maybe still have, not sure). I have plenty of Texas memories from Forth Worth and surroundings, but best was when we rented a Mustang Convertible and went south to San Antonio to meet the local Chevrolet Corvair Chapter, just an idea as I had a -63 Corvair Coupe at that time. The Chapter more or less consisted of one person and his wife. But what a bar round we got, as far from Alamo you could get. The only thing missing from a Western movie was the horses, here replaced by pickup trucks. Oh, and no guns too. But what a bunch of characters we came to meet (in the most positive sense).
Thanks, Partitura, Legaltrouble, kind comments are always welcome!
Wilhelm, I really like your shot! I really need to up my PP game.
Regarding your comment, I believe it applies to the Cathedral of Rouen, which is not the one I am showing in my pictures. As you can see, the shutter speed is low, and indicative of the use of a tripod. That is not allowed in churches, and, as a committed Christian, I respect places of worship. Except this one is no longer used for services, so I took full advantage of the rare possibility. That said, buildings that "only" rank as churches in Rouen would easily be considered spectacular cathedrals in many other cities, such is the wealth of religious architecture in the capital of Normandy, and I thought there must have been at least 4 different cathedrals of Rouen....
Philippe - that 24 really shines for you. Great details
Lightshow - Nice tilt shift shots!
Wilhem - I like the details in this image.
SirJon - That G45 is really great but your composition makes the shot.
Here's a few recent shots. The first with the G45, the rest with the CV35/1.2 II.
That second shot really shows the crazy sharpness and microcontrast of the G45. Despite the fact that I have too many 50's I keep thinking about that lens.
Michael - Don't you love shooting wide open? Nice set
Sebboh - I love the compression you get with the 300. Looks like a wonderful lens.
Ulrikft2 - The exposure of the shot with the moon is spot on. Love it.
A few more from my recent outing.
The first image is with the G45. The second and third are with the Sigma 30/2 and the last is with the Sigma 19/2.8 on the NEX-8
Really nice, Jim! Except the bokeh makes bridge look weird to my eyes on the last shot...
Love your G45 picture, Bob! You make that lens sing! Your B&W is also very nice. I cannot say that I totally enjoy the Sigma's colours, but, for the money, I am being a bit of an obnoxious snob, I know...
