So many images so little time. This tops the top for me carrying multiple messages. Great shot Jacob, all aspects! To pick just one, the comp is ridiculously perfect.
A Sigma 30mm f/2.8 landed at my door yesterday. Finally played with it today after work on my NEX-7 body. This was shot at f/2.8, processed in LR 4 using Silver Efex Pro 2.
And lilac Mme. Lemoine, stinking up the joint Bokeh compliments of lilac Mr. Ludwig Spaeth. The sun had just set for this one, still plenty of light at f/2 or whatever I was shooting at. I should write things down.

Nice birds and adorable assistant.
I like the rocks in the foreground on the first stitch. I feel like you should be set up on top of the rocks in the foreground on the second stitch (unless of course this is risky or illegal).
thanks! just noticed your comment. i have shot from up on those rocks a few times. the part of the city the rocks obscure in the shot is pretty boring photographically so i kinda like to have the rocks there instead. i posted a sunset panorama from on those rocks a while ago though here (looking more towards the west/left): https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/954103/7#10016362
BTW, I really found MF to be not easy with the group coming towards me. I tried prefocusing using magnified view, but next time I'm in this situation I'm going to turn my focus peaking up to high from my usual setting of low and rely on the peaking.
Damn brian, you are doing some excellent macro work with NEX, the contarex(s) certainly look extremely sharp and colorful, with nice OOF rendering. Thanks for sharing.
Alwang, put me in the 'love' category for that trioplan, I really think that series is expressive and lovely of its strengths (weaknesses).
As for me, I am still stuck on the Lensbaby T/S with Zeiss ZF, since I can't use the sigmarit 19mm (this lens unfortunately went kaput in a way I have never seen before), doh.

Thanks Taran.
* Extremely sharp
* Colorful
* Nice OOF rendering
Yes, those are attributes of the Contarex lenses I own. I would add:
* Extremely well engineered
* Compact compared to other SLR lenses
* Cool looking
* Expensive
I bought the Contarex Biogon 21mm two weeks ago, and was disappointed it wouldn't mount on my NEX, but I just looked at it again, and saw that the back plate, which was hindering the mounting, is removable with two tiny screws. I removed the plate, and the Biogon is now mounted on my NEX!!! I don't know exactly how close the rear element is to the sensor, but it couldn't be more than a couple of millimeters from it at infinity focus. My sensor still works though, so it's obviously not touching it. I'll post pics of it in the NEX with alt glass thread later. It must be the most compact 21 ever.
My copy's aperture is unfortunately stuck at f8, but I inted to have the lens serviced if I can find someone who can do it. I'm going to try to take a few snaps with the 21 tomorrow, I'll post them here.
Meanwhile... here are some more pics of that nectar sucking flying thing + a butterfly. Contarex Macro Tessar 115.
