I received two very nice lenses today (happy something to me!)
First shot is from my 50 Lux, wide open.
Sharpness is quite amazing and the rendering is beautiful.
Second is the same frame taken by 35 Cron at f2. Also very sharp
and the look is somewhere between my 28 Cron and 90 APO.
Colors converted to sRGB look nothing like they should,
but I will be posting more photos in ProPhoto on my website later.
Thanks a lot for the explanation. I have wanted to try something like this for a long time, but understand that it is just incredibly difficult to get right. How do you find a fly/bee/creature which doesn't fly away? I guess I always fail at step 1

Know their habits. Don't try to shoot them in the full sun on a warm day -- they're crazily active then. Macro shooters are sharing lots of their experience/advice around the web, so just take a bit of time to read up if you really want to try.

AhamB. I general I would avoid the web for good advice. There are tons of "experts" but there is very little valuable information they have to report. What remains is only confusion for someone who wants to learn. I would always recommend to study your subject. Read some books about it as a good start. And a good book about technique from good writers like Martin Evening, Bruce Fraser, Ellen Anon, Jeff Schewe, George DeWolfe and Dan Margulis (to name a few) is a true investment in knowledge.
I see you don't post much in the Macro World forum. People are very helpful and friendly there and IMO there aren't any self-proclaimed experts there. I'd take the advice from someone whose image speak for themselves (consistently).
Of course, one needs to have enough knowledge to ask the right questions. Vague or very general questions will get you confusing answers.

AhamB thanks for your input. My personal main issue with web fora is that a lot of what is written is related to ego, mis-communication and peoples own buying decisions. This can confuse the learning process in a big way. A solid knowledge base make people more resistant to these negative aspects of web information. That is why we still go to school if we really want to learn something. So I will remain with my opinion. But I am always willing to help people on the web with their (macro)photography or re-direct them to a proper source (maybe on the web). Sofar my comment on this Nex Images Thread
Kenko is going to have a set of tubes for NEX soon. What kind of extender do you use ?

Uzay these examples are with the lens only with some cropping in post process.
The Nex 7 has so many pixels that you can crop almost infiite :-)
In other occasions I use this lens with an 1.4x extender to give more reach or even more magnification.
So here are some tests with the Contarex Biogon 21mm f4.5. I've never seen anyone post any samples from this lens before, these might be the first NEX shots ever with this lens...
Sorry for the boring subjects, but I haven't had time to get out and shoot. Performance seems very good, with superb overall sharpness, a hint of purple corners, and smeared extreme corners in some situations, close to zero distortion.
All at f8, as that's where the lens is stuck. I'm sending it in for an overhaul next week, which besides fixing the aperture, might boost performance in other areas.
Cool lens, definitely more than a 'hint' of color shift though On my screen there is a very visible 'yellow' central (circular) area, with the rest shifted towards purpleish. Reminds me a bit of what I'd get from the CV 21/4 Color Skopar.
